Nuts. I was hoping something could have been worked out between Fox and Marvel, but Fox studio is once again proving that they are run by the biggest jerks in Hollywood.

Let's hope that they find a worthy replacement for Blunt and don't have to resort to ScarJo.

Just like Rourke, not exactly the be-all and end-all of thespians; I'm hopefull that they'll find someone equally as good, if not better, on both counts.

Although after reading alot of posts on the IM boards (moreso on the Rourke thread than on here - there's a bit more optimism evident here), it would seem quite a few of my fellow posters dont have the same faith in Favs as I do.

Does anyone remember when they are supposed to start filming?

I'm just curious as to if they are falling behind when it comes to casting or not.

Personally, I for some reason don't care if Black Widow is in the film or not. It won't bother me who gets casted so long as they can act well enough.

^In 8 weeks. Lots of stuff changes in pre-production. In the first film, Iron Monger was actually supposed to be Crimson Dynamo and the Mandarin was supposed to be in there(with an actual appearance). But stuff changes and they still made a great film. Improv is just as important for a director as it is for an actor.

That's a fair point.

I still don't neccessarily agree with the extent of wariness though. When Marvel actually produces a movie as dire as Elektra or FF, that's when I think people can rightfully feel aggreived, in my view.

Just because Blunt and Rourke are'nt on-board, SLJ's still a maybe (although he is easily replaced, if need be) and Rhodey's already been replaced [with a better actor no less], people are all of a sudden declaring Marvel as something akin to the anti-christ;

Ironic when you consider that just under a year ago, they were all kissing Marvels collective ass for what they were giving us, cinematically.

ScarJo as BW seems like a terrible, terrible piece of fan-casting, not something Favs & co would actually be considering

I have a feeling someone at Marvel put it out to EW so that when the role is actually cast, fanboys everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief and say "Well, at least it isn't Scarlet Johannson"
