Epic Movie rips X-Men

The Original Bamfer said:
Wait, how is Borat an epic movie?

They're throwing the kitchen sink on it, including Paris Hilton and MTV Cribs, why not Borat?

I'll download it free from a torrent, to see if it's REALLY worth or a rental.
I can tell you right now it's not even worth the bandwidth you are gonna use to download it...
Heck, it's not even worth the bandwidth I used posting this :p

I want the 3 minutes of my life I spent watching the trailer this afternoon back. It doesn't even look remotely funny. :whatever:

Eh, kinda liked the delivery of the Superman 'you shot me in the eye - why would you do that' bit.

Probably will be just like Date Movie, though.

Worth the rental if there's like 6 of us chipping in. And after watching it, we'll agree that there was like 10 really funny jokes and that we should've just watched one of the Naked Gun or Hot Shots movies instead... :D

This movie looks about as funny as a movie that tries to make fun of Borat...oh wait...

Wow. I can't express my disgust enough. "2 of the writers from Scary Movie???" Are ****ing kidding me with that ****? More like the 2 worst writers. Date Movie was honestly (no I am not exaggerating) one of the worst comedies I have ever seen. Why do bad things happen to good people?? Why can't the people involved in making these piles of **** die instead???

This movie only has one advantage over a film spoofed in it: it would seem Cyclops doesn't appear in the first 15 minutes only to be killed off-screen. Outside of that, I didn't think it was funny when I saw the premise and it still wasn't funny on the big screen. Lots of people around me laughed, though. I suppose there are some who will see this.

Yeah the general public usually flocks to see this stupid ****. You guys underestimate the stupidity of the average movie goer.

I'm not one of those elitist movie-goers who don't give anything besides indie films a chance, but I honestly can't believe how incredibly stupid this movie looks. I can pretty much see the writers making this script, putting in every tiny "heh" and slight giggle they can think of while occasionally getting something that's actually funny.

I have my own guilty pleasures (FOL NY!!) but I can't believe these guys are making money off something that looks like it was written by 13 yr. olds.

Of course it's going to be a stupid movie, but sometimes you have to leave your brain outside of the theatre. I'll go see it because it's spoofing a lot of the movies I enjoyed (that's one reason why I saw the Scary Movie films,) and some parts are probably going to be enjoyable while the entire film will probably be pointless.

I never saw Date Movie because I hate those types of films.

I agree... and there are dumber things, for example, Family Guy :cmad:

Didn't you see the movie's jaw-dropping epic masterfully directed action scene? :wow:

Titans battling it out naked in an hotel. One of them trying to defend his lady love. Hell, there's even a chase.

Qualifies as epic, really.

Meh, last uber stupid movie I saw in theaters was Scary Movie 3.

Just rented the others with a bunch of pals, really.

Dunno, just have trouble watching those alone since you have no one to commiserate with after.

I'm guessing they put the whole X-men scene in the trailer :whatever:

jesus, that's utter crap. I do hate these kind of comedies. American Pie, Scary Movie, Ben Stiller's movies, total waste of time. Intelligent comedies aren't easy to find nowadays.

hmmm.gif
I had no idea these movies were even trying to be intelligent. I always understood they served purpose as a cheap laugh. :o

:)

While I do believe that some of the eps and jokes in FG funny...

I gotta admit the show is insanely dumb from a writing perspective. I mean, 90% of the jokes are so f****n random it's just mind-boggling. Only, you know, in the BAD sense. :D

*Looks at Superman Returns* Ummmm...yeah.

But yeah I can understand why people didn't like. But people put it down WAY too much. It is nowhere near as dumb or horrible as half of the other **** released that year.

Yeah, it wasn't exactly a glorious flick either, wasn't it?

Considering what it did to the source material, yes it does deserve to be put down that much.

Ignore the whole x-men mythos and it's a decent sci-fi/action extravaganza.

About that... is it me or do movies have just been horribly bad for the past, what, 2 years?

I mean, hell, I think I only bought like 6 dvds from movies released in 2k5/2k6. And I'm actually somewhat of a collector (own at least 150)...

It's just, man, I remember going to the theaters like every 2/3 weeks a couple years back and over the past 18-24 months, I'm lucky if there's been a movie catching my interest every two freakin months... :wow:

Yep. It disappointed me on so many levels. It wasn't like it was a terrible movie but it just wasn't a Superman movie sorry.

Whaaaa?? You mean the comics or the previous movies? Singer ****ed up on plenty of things.

Well since Fox sucks and likes to have pretty much everyone of their films under 2 hours you can blame them. Forcing people to cram **** in even tighter. I wouldn't say they ignored things they just tried to fit it in a timeframe that makes the movie even possible. There is ALWAYS going to be people disappointed with so many characters to do justice in that timeframe. It's sad but people just don't have the patience or attention to sit through a 3 hour movie. For us fans of the X-Men we can easily be disappointed when they start taking liberties but I have to say for the people who know little about X-Men like alot of my friends they saw it and liked it a lot. But oh well...to each his own.

Well no there has always been ****ty movies. I think these days they get alot more publicity behind them because if a movie has enough marketing behind it it can at least make a little cash. There has been great films (The Prestige, Little Miss Sunshine, The Departed, Casino Royale, POTC2...just to name a few) you just gotta look for them and try not to get blinded with the marketing. I was fooled with ****ing Date Movie. :(

Yeah, exactly, I hate the random jokes, and what's worse, they keep with the same joke FOREVER :whatever:

I only laughed with one episode, when I saw Louis as Mystique. OMG Thought I was going to have a heart attack
