Endgame EPIC Soundtrack of Avengers Endgame (Alan Silvestri)

He's never won an Oscar. Unfortunately I think the score for Endgame might be ineligible because it reuses too much music from previous films, which is a damn shame. "Portals" and "The Real Hero" have been in rotation for me. This is easily his best MCU score, maybe even the best of the entire MCU.

The feelings listening to this track...

Not exactly, it plays when
Thor first sees Frigga, and when Frigga is counselling Thor afterwards
Ah, gotcha.

I loved all the instances where Silvestri reused previous themes, especially from The First Avenger. My biggest gripe with the MCU is that many of the solo films kept using new themes for the heroes (specifically the Iron Man and Thor series) but I'm especially happy that Silvestri's iconic Avengers theme has remained for the past seven years.

I loved it, he did a great job wrapping things up musically.

Silvestri really nailed the emotional tone of the movie, even when he was reusing his material from the first movie. It was so gratifying that the Russo Brothers actually let Silvestri reprise his Captain America themes too. Very pleased that he referenced other composers' material in the score.

Why didn't the Russos and Silvestri do this for Infinity War? If anything, Endgame should put Silvestri back on the map. He's too good of a composer to just do Zemeckis and MCU films for the rest of his career.

Now that I've had time to listen to and digest the soundtrack, my favourites are:

- No Trust (last few seconds when the title card kicks in),
- One Shot (the classic Avengers theme playing when the team prepares for one last mission)
- Portals (my fav track of the whole score)
- The Real Hero
- Main on End (the film's end credits and the epic tribute to the OG 6 at the end of the track).

Why didn't the Russos and Silvestri do this for Infinity War?
They did, but to a lesser extent. The only themes that Silvestri reused in IW were Ludwig Goransson's Wakanda theme and a bit of Michael Giacchino's Doctor Strange score, I think.

A Reddit user provided a full score analysis of Endgame. SPOILERS if you haven't seen the film yet.

Surprised Mark Mothersbaugh's "Twilight of the Gods" wasn't mentioned in the end credits roll.
