ER - The Final Season

Well, I haven't watched ER since most of the original cast was gone, but I am curious. How did it end?

Totally agree with everything you said. I remembered that scene. Classic. Last night reminded me of how great the show was. The new cast wasn't really that interesting. Now that it's over they need to release a complete 15 season DVD set!

I wonder how much that will be if they release the entire series in a box set.

It covers a 24 hours at the ER.

Carter has opened up his own Medical Center, "The Joshua Carter Center," named after his deceased son.

Rachel Greene, Mark's daughter is interviewing at County to get into an internship program.

Corday, Lewis, Benton, Weaver all make an appearance (Ross, Hathaway,
Greene, Morgenstern, Romano, Kovac and Abby have already appeared earlier this season).

The finale itself is an homage to the series pilot and ends with a mass trauma coming in, which I believe is how the pilot also ended.

The final line is said by Carter as he's rolling in a patient...he turns to Rachel and says, "Dr. Greene! You coming?"

The series ends with a quick pan out of County General with the classic theme song playing.

It really was awesome.

The ending was really something. It reminded me of something an classic 80's hospital show would do........but no snow globe!

I don't remember Kovac appearing in an episode earlier this year.

Morganstern = That's William H. Macy's character?

Man, now what am I going to do at 10 on Thursday nights?...

I didn't like the montage at the beginning like I thought it should be.
I know when you have over a decade of character developement you can't possibly fit every arc and cool thing in an hour long retro.

I did dig the 3rd or 4th come back from commercial, the one that lead off w/ the explosions and tank and hellicopter. That was cool,

but it was really heavy on the first cast... alot of Clooney, and Dr. Greene. But No real Luka or Abby which the show was about for most of the time, I didn't even know Pratt had died:csad:, cause i've been missing this last season.

What about Deb Chen??!-she was good and they showed her ONCE, but Angela Bassett-who I love, but didn't deserve all the time she got... none of the ahole characters was mentioned except for Romano...you had Wallochie, the nurse from 3rd rock from the Sun'....none of the relations were that much focuesed...the shootout made it in there a lil...Not much Archie Morris, or Gallant really...Omar Epps got a snip...

Didn't get to watch all of the last 3 eps, so I guess I need to catchup...I guess I'll have to buy the season 15 DVD...this show helped me choose a career so to that end I'm grateful

wow, Dr Green daughter grow up to be a cutie! :D

I was happy to see her again. She looked pretty much the same except taller.

I always loved that theme song. I haven't seen the show since Clooney was on there.

Did I see a Gilmore girl??!!

Did I see a Gilmore girl??!!

Yep, Alexis B was in it

What the hell was she doing? Did she join the cast this past season?

I think she was in another episode this season towards the end. At least, I could have swore I saw her on the show before...

I loved it, very good final ep the things i REALLY liked.

the opening with the older nurse waking up Archie just like Dr Greene in Pilot. bringing back the opening credits with that great theme music. Seeing Rachel Greene grown up and going to go to medical school. Seeing MOST of the main cast at Dr Carter's opening dedication to "The Carter Center". And the ending of it being just another end of the show but having the theme kick in again and pulling back to see the entire "County General Hospital" building which i never saw from outside only the ambulance bay and interiors. I wonder what show will be taking over 'stage 11' aka ER stage?

PS anybody see the retrospective that was on at 8, very well done i even felt myself tearing up at the sad clips, but :hehe: at the funny bits like Carter watching them wheel in Benton for surgery "there IS a god" :hehe:.

$400?

They can all go in a model building of County General Hospital. The 11th season comes out later this year. So by 2011 or 2012 the Complete Set will come out, nearly 20 years since the show debuted.

You know when Carter says to Rachel, "Dr. Greene, you coming?"

Am I wrong or did Mark Greene say that to Carter in the pilot as well?

I think he did.

I don't remember Kovac appearing in an episode earlier this year.

Morganstern = That's William H. Macy's character?

Kovac appeared very briefly in the 3rd episode this season...he was picking up Abby on her last day at the ER.

And yes, Morganstern is Macy's character.

Here's some other similarities to the pilot...

PILOT: Benton makes a jab about psychiatry and dermatology to Carter.
FINALE: Chaz Pratt makes a jab about psychiatry and dermatology to the med students.

PILOT: Benton briskly explains to Carter how to put in an IV.
FINALE: Carter explains to Rachel how to put in an IV.

PILOT: Dr. Ross chastises a mother for abusing her baby.
FINALE: Dr. Gates chastises irresponsible parents for letting kids drink, resulting in one of them being in a coma.

Man, i'm telling you, I can't stop talking about the finale...it was perfect symmetry to the pilot and it really does feel like the series came full circle.

I'm fairly new to ER but the finale and Clooney coming back sparked my interest. I thought the retrospective was great. Morris already seems like a fun character

I've been watching youtube clips(the first 11 minutes of the pilot, Carter losing his baby, some departures,Romano's death, Greene's death etc, Carter's first IV on Frank)

Some questions. Did Rachael Greene order her margarita like her Dad?

Has the subway line been destroyed and rebuilt in a previous storyline? because I would think having the subway car crash down would make an excellent season finale.

Also i'd hate to be assigned to a room next to a rumbling subway car

Actually amazon had the complete 10 seasons in the goldbox the day of the finale at $163 dollars (which was too sweet to pass up so i caved), but now it's back to $300.

The 11th season wont be released until July last i checked, and no clue when the other seasons will be released so i would say a boxset is still a bit far away.

I cant say i'd buy a season on dvd. and this is nearly my favorite show , top5 @ least. i got reruns on tnt 4 as long as that last's, maybe uverse might have some eps. The shows run is so massive, and flooded with characters i couldnt pick a season. except for the last, cause there will be a finaly. my favorite casts have Pratt, Kovach and Abby, the older ones are cool, but theyre so far away now. but damn igotta wait til'2011 4 that. i guess ima wait, u gotta stike while its hot nbc

They should have done like "Friends" and as soon as the series finale was over, the finale season dvd would go on sale.

And I also forgot that the first IV Carter ever started, was on Frank...totally slipped my mind.

Once again, a perfect way to end an AMAZING series. ER...its been one hell of a ride.

:cwink:
Aww. Carter was so young and adorable. Now he's all manly. him.
