No comedy should cost 200 million!
Things are going really bad for Universal. Instead of padding up their annual releases with quality titles made at medium budgets, they keep dumping a whole bunch of money into one project, and that project always under preforms. They seriously need to get with the program, or they're going to end up getting sold like MGM did.
I suppose some bozo down there has it in their head that it's cheaper to have one expensive movie that makes 600 million than to make a bunch of less expensive movies that bring in a decent profit. Well, that'd be dandy if it weren't for the high probability that these big budget movies will flop. If you put all your eggs into one basket, there's always a chance that you're going to trip and loose everything. And that's exactly what Universal has done for the past several years.
