Explosions and gunfire in Paris

Where did u hear that?

EDIT: Just read an article on it. Damn though. I don't see ISIS walking away from this.

The Russians/Iran/Assad have always been in the west. Iran will never ****ing surrender Damascus.

ISIS has been crawling into Syria from the East (where Iraq is), most of their strongholds are there. The Nato forces naturally want to deal with ISIS around there.

Should ISIS be weeded out in Syria, these two forces will occupy opposite sides of the country.

Here is my proposal with the refugee situation.

Only accept young children, women and the elderly. This is traditionally and historically the refugee demographic. Not the current able bodied fighting age men, (around 3/4) flooding into Europe. The men should be fighting for their homelands. I fathom the hard right will find this "acceptable" even.

It's not a perfect but would relieve the pressure valve imo.

No one is going to fight for Syria. It's not even a country anymore. And it arguably never was by any meaningful definition of the concept. It's now a crumbling fiefdom controlled by Assad, contested tribal lands, wasteland or ISIS.

Germany has already let 1 million young male Syrians through its borders.

The solution is simple. Syria needs international intervention. Assad must be removed, and ISIS needs to be dislodged from its cities.

In other words we need a big ****ing army. But no one has the stomach for that. So instead, this.

I know it's pretty much too late with the current flood inside. But you need to shut the tap off. I do not want to see both Europeans and Muslims radicalizing in close proximity. Children/elderly/women is something of a compromise or stop gap.

This is what I mean by stand off.

Russians/Iranians in west. NATO in the East.

NATO wants Assad out, and the West alliance are completely behind Assad. This is a gigantic ****ing time bomb. No more pretense of proxy warring.

Yeah isn't like the leaders of NATO meeting this week? What ISIS have done is pretty much a mini 911 esque event. From what I've read, they will meet up and decide the course of action. I think they will definitely intervene according to the treaty anyways.

Bullcrap it's simple. We never seem to get pass the getting rid of the last guy routine.

What the heck happens a year/two years/three years. Installing a guy we like feeds back into the ideology. People they choose get wrapped into fighting the same old internal Muslim strife that has warlords ruling areas and not an actual state.

Looks like France just said **** this **** and ordered air strikes.

You say that like it's a mutually exclusive thing.

If they just wanted to hurt people, they wouldn't need to attack Paris. Paris was targeted because they joined the campaign against them.
No....they just wanted to hurt people....if they truly wanted to get "revenge" for what a government did, they would attack members of the government. But they attacked and targeted innocent people that had had nothing to do personally with anything against Muslims. They did not attack soldiers that had hurt people...they attacked unarmed civilians. That makes them cowards and low life scum.

Agree in every way.

If ISIS simply wanted to hurt people, they would just murder some people down the street. They targeted France specifically, because France was bombing them. There is clear intent behind this.

It's no different than when they blew up that Russian airliner. ISIS didn't just want to blow up a plane, they targeted a specific nation in retaliation.

This isn't mindless violence. It may be cowardly, but these attacks have meaning behind them.

They do this plenty.

Speaking of Syria, that country was at one point a safe haven for one of the most notorious Nazis ever in Alois Brunner, who served as an advisor to Assad's father.

And they generally kill specific people (Shias, Alawites, Yazidis, moderate Sunnis, etc).

You think a dozen ISIS fighters just wandered around Europe, and in a spur of the moment decided to blow up a theater and go on a highly organized killing spree in the capital of an enemy nation?

These are political extremists aka terrorists with an agenda. This isn't some crazy person who snaps and shoots up a school.

The French are really blowing the **** out of ISIS apparently. They just blew up a chunk of their capital.

Word is the passport found near one of the dead bombers may be a fake.

Agreed. These terrorists may be brainwashed but they're still pretty intelligent. They know exactly how to push people's buttons. This coordinated attack took planning and money.

thank god those U.S. marines stopped that gunman on the French train just a few months ago... otherwise this would be the second time this kind of massacre had happened

That would've been crazy, three France-based massacres in one year.

Not that two isn't remarkable.
