Explosive Future!

I am starting this to discuss the future vision of the Explosion in New York. I have heard some theories about nuclear weapon or terrorist act but I have an interesting theory that some might not have thought of. What if the explosion may not be technology based or "human" trigged but could be "super" based/triggered. This show is based around comic book style superheroes and I think the explosion could be a link to the Uluru creature. It maybe something else but I think the explosion super based in origin.

What do you think?

I think your right. Either Uluru or the "supers" are the cuase of the explosion. I actually think thats why Sylar is killing. I think he is going after supers because he thinks they cause the explosion and he thinks that this is the only way to fix it.

I had been thinking this exact same thing.

Two other points of note:
There is another "super" not yet revealed, a dudde that apparently has the ability to manipulate molecules (see the painting of the glass of boiling water in someone's hand).
In the tv coverage of trainwreck that Claire pulled a guy out of, there is a voiceover of newcaster saying that the train "was registered to the Nuclear Regulatory Commision."

I think that either, or both of these points will factor into the season finale.

A nuke, or a terrorist attack is too "normal" for a show like this. Maybe if this were 24, I'd buy it.

Yea i thought so too, it would seem sylar is the one behind this, but who knows.

Well after Episode 07 - "Nothing To Hide" about Mr. Pyro, along with my theory, I could be right.

The current theory is that Sylar steals powers, if he gets to the cheerleader and the radioactive guy he would become even more dangerous.

Sylar after Radioactive guy, takes radioactive mans powers, takes cheerleaders powers, blows up New York, destroys everyone and is left unharmed.

that's a bit of a stretch. claire can still be harmed, and if her brain is screwed up her powers are nullified. I'm thinking if he stood in the middle of an atomic blast he'd be vaporized just like claire would be.

I'm assuming along with tek, and some other abilities he can keep his brain unharmed.

It's all just theory.

sylar isn't smart enough to develop some way to a) explode himself but b) not explode his brain

or rather, if that actually did happen, this show would have officially jumped the shark and become ******ed.

we still havn't seen exactly how his powers are "released".



We don't know Sylars' IQ and it shouldn't be in question

What if the more powers you take the stronger it develops like if you steal 2 of the same power does it become greater?

Say Sylar "who can steal powers" had already "stole powers" from another regenrator, i mean he was shot and then got up so this might be true.

therefore Claire's ability would only increase his.

I think you are wrong about Claire... Claire powers only work as long as a foreign object is not in the damaged area... once the log was removed she started healing again...

I don't think the theory of him wanting them both is incorrect, but I don't think he wants both of their powers... assuming he's a power thief. Even with Claire's powers, if he went in and caused a nuclear explosion in NYC himself he'd destroy his own brain. No regenerating. He'd be dead.

Now, if he had Claire's power, but ABDUCTED nuclear guy, he could handle the guy without fear of permanent injury. He could then tie him up somewhere in NYC, strap him up with explosives, and set off the nuclear explosion that way. That, to me, makes 1,000,000 times more sense and is much more consistent with what we know or can deduce so far.

I'm sure there are deeper motives and ways of going about but IMO something along these lines wouldn't make the show stupid.

If he's planning to blow himself up and count on Claire's ability to keep him alive, I'd have to go with ragdus--that'd be stupid. So far the show has had abilities that are deeply rooted in realistic concepts and a realistic presentation; case in point, Claire "died" when she got stabbed in the head and only revived after the foreign object had been removed. That's about as realistic as a regenerating cheerleader can get. I doubt the showrunners would then do an about-face and have the main villain's evil scheme be to blow himself up in a nuclear explosion and... what? Have every atom of his body clump back together to reform him? A nuclear explosion would vaporize the guy. There'd be nothing left for Claire's limited regeneration to work with.

I think Sylar is going to somehow force the "Nuclear Man" we met last episode to somehow have a literal meltdown in the middle of New York.
