8.8 isnt bad...i was hoping for a 9.5 to put it on zelda levels, but lets not kid ourselves :)

I figure the reviews will swing pretty wildly for this one as the game can be so subjective. I mean if you just go through the story mode, as some will, then it seems as if the game doesn't offer much for you, but if you take the time to explore Albion or hold down a job or partake in the various side quests then the game offers a great experience. I for one can not wait to wander through and explore Albion.

When LionHead decided to cut down on the LE they apparently removed EVERYTHING including the codes for the DLC in most copies so alot of copies of the LE is shipping without the codes. So if you ordered or are getting the LE more then likely do not expect the codes to be there. If this is not fixed right away I smell law suits coming for clearly false advertising

A statement was released at the beginning of October.

http://community.lionhead.com/blogs/fable_2_development/archive/2008/10/01/3087970.aspx

We are happy to announce the Fable II game is in manufacturing and confirmed for Oct-21 in North America and Asia, Oct-24 for Europe.

However, due to supply chain issues**, we are revising the Fable II Limited Collector’s Edition and the estimated retail price will be reduced from $79.99 to $69.99* USD in North America or as applicable in your market. *These are estimated retail prices; actual retail prices may vary worldwide. ** we are gutted

The premium box, five printed fate cards, and Hobbe figure will not be available as part of the Limited Collector’s Edition. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The Fable II Limited Collector’s Edition will now include the following content at this discounted price:

Fable II game disc
Bonus DVD with new ‘Making-of’ Feature
Bonus in-game content (requires Xbox LIVE®)
‘The Hall of the Dead’ Dungeon
‘The Wreckager’ Legendary Cutlass Weapon
Spartan armor and energy sword
To further show our commitment to the faithful fans, we have created a special Fable album for free download for a limited time! This includes a wonderful selection of Fable 1 music and 3 brand new tracks from the upcoming Fable II soundtrack.

Go to http://www.sumthingdigital.com, and enter “FableCollection” promotion code. This will be available beginning October 6, 2008 @ 9am PST.

[UPDATE: By a suggestion made in the comments of this entry, we're going to release the Fate Cards as a downloadable PDF for you to print, plus we can also confirm the new LCE version will have the original LCE artwork).]

[UPDATE 2: There is an email from GAME doing the rounds on the internet, claiming that the LCE has been further reduced. This information is incorrect; there are no further cuts in the Limited Collectors Edition. (read more).]

I don't know what DLC you are referring to.

The LE has exclusive Halo Spartan Armor & Energy Sword which you will not get if you do not get the DLC codes

Did you pick up your LE and not get the code? Where are you getting your information that they aren't including it in every copy?

I picked it up last night/this morning at a midnight release. I still havent played it though! Work+School= :(

Iv been playing the game for a little over an hour and im enjoying it. Nothing revolutionary, but if you enjoyed the orig Fable, then you should enjoy this.

been playing this game for 5 hours now. i couldnt put down the controller this morning.

8.8 My Ass.

so far this is clearly a 9.5 game, if not better.

I agree just picking up the controller & after you finish the first side quests & the game is wow :wow: I am loving it. I can't see myself playing Co-Op until after I beat it

IGN UK gave it a 9.5. Maybe the accents helped.

Haha yea, thats how i feel. There is soo much to see. I just bought my first house, it was in Bowerstone market, so now i have a place to sit and collect my thoughts, hah. At first i thought the combat was a bit weak, then i realized you had to upgrade, i just unlocked the "Aim Mode" for my ranged weapon and its already made shooting more fun. Hopefully there are more "finishing" moves as you upgrade.

Speaking of house. I remember in the original fable the house you bought was basically just there. You couldn't really do anything with it. Like drop off inventory or anything. What upgrades have they made with the houses? Can you at least drop off stuff there now?

How long does it take to upgrade your abilities, weapons, etc? From what i remember of the first game you had to be about 3 hours in before you got anything good.

it doesnt take too long to upgrade. but its not as easy as say 'too human' was. god that game sucked :(

but seriously...is there really no way to view a full map?

From what ive played (20 Min) there's no way to view a full map. It'll probably be patched in if its demanded enough. I really just want to get some bad ass armor and a bad ass long sword.

indeed.

lol how in the hell would a full map not be in this game, thats pathetic. you can go to different regions but have no real idea how they connect or anything. id like to see how big this place really is

Gamespot or IGN should have a guide map or something
