Faith Restored: Reynolds talks Deadpool

Wasn't he supposed to be "biggest" Deadpool fan?

:whatever:

I dunno who ever said that. But I knew that he has read Deadpools comics. Considering he says he doesn't really read comics, but that he has read Deadpools comics, it shows he is a fan.

Judging by Reynolds' latest comments and some of the other leaked or speculated information I think it's looking more and more likely that Weapon XI rejects the abilities grafted on its body and Wade is left a scarred mess at the end of the movie i.e. the thing that becomes Deadpool. It is inferred from Stryker's comments in X2 that Deathstrike was special because he was able to replicate the adamantium bonding process he used on Wolverine. He used to think Wolverine was one of a kind before Deathstrike because it didn't work with anyone else. That would suggest Weapon XI's body rejects the adamantium. Maybe it even pushes out the blades from his arms? He mustn't have the skeleton yet because he still has the incison drawings on his body when he's battling Wolverine. So if his healing factor rejected the blades and forced them out of his body he'd be defenseless and Wolverine could go all "beserker rage" on him and claw his body up into the raw hamburger meat Wade Wilson we all know and love. Needless to say any extra powers he has - Cyclops' eye blasts, Wraith's teleportation etc - he loses too.

If the above turns out to be true I think I can live with it. I just hope it's Logan who defeats him and not Creed. This is a Wolverine movie afterall.

I'd still prefer Wolverine vs Sabretooth to be the final fight tho.

Doesn't change much, except cement Barakkapool.

And shows barakapool isn't the final version of him. Reynolds actually says "I play Wade Wilson, and the thing that eventually becomes Deadpool". So clearly, the real, failed experiment DP is left at the end.

umm... according to that io9 article about x-men origins: wolverine's synopsis [BLACKOUT]wolverine cuts off deadpool's(aka weapon xi) head while deadpool is destorying three mile island. apparently everyone hates wade wilson on the team as well. he keeps making lame jokes and sabretooth attacks him. stryker uses him as a vessel for his new project to harvest powers from captured mutants.[/BLACKOUT] in conclusion...no the "faith" has not been restored here. i think we're all missing the point of this movie though. its about wolverine. anyone else in the movie is a minor character. whatever character gets a "spinoff" won't necessarily be the same characterization from the movie. probably

Yea but i don't believe that "spoiler" review. The guy who has apparently seen the film still thinks Beak is Beak, he isn't called Beak anymore, they changed it to Bolt. If he had seen the film you'd think he would know the name of the character right?

I reckon Weapon XI will have his arms cut off, and from getting crushed in that tower/reactor collapse or something like that, his healing factor will overload and cause his body to reject the other augmentations. Leaving a failed, reject Deadpool right at the very end. What Reynolds has said matches up with what that Spaced and Confused guy said, that Weapon XI is the experiment, Deadpool is the failed experiment, the thing that remains after it goes wrong.

This makes no sense. Deadpool gets his head chopped off but still lives? I doubt even Deadpool can live through a frickin decapitation. Sorry if he can, I hardly know anything about Deadpool other than he's a merc mutant who can heal himself.

Yea he has had his head chopped off before. If the head is reattached to his neck in time it just reheals back on.

I personally believe it's a must for EVERYONE to watch Hulk vs. Wolverine just for Deadpool to show how badass, funny, and clever he is. Most people have stated that without Deadpool the animated film would've sucked.

If the movie is a failure there won't be a Deadpool spinoff.

Like there's no Silver Surfer spinoff to show for the FF2 mess.

I'm a Wolvie fan, but I agree whole-heartedly. Deadpool made that DVD worth buying, watching, and keeping.

I have a feeling that the Wolverine film won't fail though. He's not on Spidey's or Batman's level as far as popularity is concerned, but he's pretty damn popular, so I do expect this film to be a success for Fox when it's released.

It's biggest concern will be Terminator Salvation, however, it will probably have made its money and then some by the time TS is released.

Also Fox doesn't have a good track record with comic spinoffs.

See Elektra.

why did elektra feel more like alias the movie ?

oh yea, they cast vaughn as the male lead lol damn u fox

As long as Wolvie and Sabretooth have a great tussle, I'll be happy. In fact, since we know that Wolvie can't handle the Creed situation permanently (he needs to show up in X1) I'd actually prefer a finale with a definite resolution. An epic Wolverine VS Weapon XI battle would be a great way to end the film.
