Here are some quick minimalist film posters I did up for DC's two upcoming film releases. The city is meant to be the focus, with minimal changes to represent each film.

Great, idea.
I do, however, have a couple issues with the execution.
Doing a series of posters is admirable. But from my experience as a graphic designer, there are a few things i've learned.
I love the concept of doing very similar posters based around metropolis and Gotham. However, I don't think you've done enough to differentiate the two cities. the skylines besides the center building are identical, even down to the lights in the windows. I realize coming at it from a minimalist approach, you don't want to get too detailed, however try mixing up the lights, and heights of the buildings a bit so they don't look the same.
On the issue with being the same, Using the same background texture can be detrimental. I realize you want them to be a family of posters, but try flipping of modifying one of the textures so that it doesn't look exactly the same. This and the previous comment should relate to the starmap as well.
I feel like there could be a bit more contrast between their colours, too. Perhaps the metropolis one is even lighter? I realize you probably don't want to do as far a departure as night and day (literally) but even lighting it a tad. A city the size of metropolis would have considerable light pollution
Hope these pointers help. You've got a great idea. Just needs a little finessing.
