Rise of the Silver Surfer Fantastic Four 2 Disc Extended Editon coming to DVD on June 5th 2007.

^^^^^^according to that there are then only 5 minutes extra in the movie?????

I HAVEN'T READ THROUGH THIS WHOLE THREAD, SO THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN ASKED ALREADY BUT IS WALMART, TARGET, OR BEST BUY GOING TO HAVE EXCLUSIVES AND IF SO WHICH ONE IS THE BEST???:D:up:

There will probably only be one extended version....

Those stores did their exclusives with the first DVD. From what I heard, if you are a fan of the comic, then the Target exclusive was the best. If you are a fan of the special effects then the Walmart was the one to purchase....

COOL, THANKS, I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THERE WERE ANY DIFFERENT VERSIONS OUT THERE, THAT'S ALL, THANKS AGAIN!!!:D:up:

the press release for fantastic four extended edition says 126 minutes. I wonder if wal-mart might have the titles early, like they did with spidey 2.1?

That is really dependent on the Wal-mart itself....All walmarts will get them early........BUT its up to the individual wal-mart as to whether or not they go ahead and put them out....all stores will get them early so they can get ready.....some will go ahead and put them out and some won't...

I seriously can not wait any longer for this. I've been waiting since the first day the film came out. This is our Daredevil DC.

I'm extremely disappointed.....

6 minutes extra film???? we know of almost 25 minutes of film not used...
All the extras are simply things found on their special formats sold by Wal-mart, Target and Best Buy.....

Way to go Fox, pretty much just one more way to make some money off the fans.......

Let me know if its worth it.....I won't be wasting my money again.........I bought the other versions, and I have the 17 minutes of deleted scenes......I'll pass on this one.....

What do those deleted scenes contain, just curious.

/\ Um, I'm pretty sure its official that it IS a more than 20 minute extra cut.

And that last bullet point is especially true. That's how Fox steals money from us! Daredevil, Fantastic Four and now the same thing might have happened to X3- unsure about that one though.

I do want to check this out. EE's are usually not worth the double dip, but when you get 20 more minutes of movie, that is significant. While I doubt this will fix the mess of Doom, it may fix some of the films other issues.

I hate when they do this, though. GIVE ME THE RIGHT VERSION THE FIRST TIME ON THE BIGGER SCREEN!!!

What region is this version of the dvd from? Will region 1 be getting the comic book as well?

Um, don't know regions- I know that the US release gets the comics. Just like with the X-Men 3 special edition. If you got your X-Men special edition with Stan Lee comics, then yah- you'll probably get the FF comics as well.

Oh hell no... Twenty more minutes of utter lameness...

I, uh, already have the single disc version from South America.
Sorry.

  • Johnny with hot girls in an elevator (have no idea why this was shot, but it was kinda cute)
  • Johnny and hot girls in Doom's limo...
  • Johnny in bar (very good scene)
  • Sue and Reed in storage room (great scene for the long time fans)
  • Sue and Doom Restaurant scene (very good scene)
  • Reed and Doom arguing in lab, Sue looks on...
  • Ben on bench
  • Ben and Alicia (cleaning Ben, kind of a weird scene)
  • Ben and Alicia at one of her showings (very good scene)

Hi all, Antariss here...

I am technically a newbie, but I joined originally a year or so ago but for some reason I couldn't sign in any more so I've just rejoined. Before that I have been reading these boards for about fours years or more (i think during the early X-men film days). Enough of the history lesson, I have a copy of the new FF Extended Edition and have watched it. Its not released here in England yet but I got it on import ast a specialist film shop.

Anyway...the extended cut is AWESOME!!!!:hyper: Believe me it is more than 5 minutes and must be a bout 20 mins of extra footage integrated properly into the film not like the X-men 1.5 branch effect. I remember getting hold of the shooting script from this board for the first film and felt upset with all the scenes cut out like Ben and Alicia and Johnny getting shamed in the nightclub.

Thankfully these and many more scenes are back in and I feel though the pace is slower as a result - the film feels more 'proper', y'know like a real movie (not tv movie). The scenes I mentioned give the characters more of an arc and let youi feel more for them, partcularly when Ben feels out of place at the art exhibition. Even Victor comes across as more scheming and conniving with his tempting of Johnny scene re-inserted,etc

Another thing that made a big difference for me is the opening title credits. Though not brilliant, they are stylised comic outllines of the cast in various scenes with two tone colours and actually feels quiet 60's. It just helped the film having an opening and the opening scenes at Von doom industries have been extended too, which works.

The film doesn't completely change of course and if you felt it sucked your not going to change your mind. However, if your like me and you enjoyed the film but thought the editing was sloppy and you missed the character scenes and beats (plus opening title) then you'll be very happy as it makes a BIG difference:woot: .

I'll answer questions, but I'm in UK so its late here now, I'lll reply but may be big time gap.

Awesome, great to hear Antariss. The editing was always my biggest problem with the movie.

did you ever see the directors cut of daredevil? how does it compared to that?

do they have the launch intro before they go into space?

Jacob

Well, I'm half way through the extended cut and it's pretty decent so far. I've always felt that the problem with the film lie at the script level but still thought it was damn fun to watch.

But, I just had to chime in for a second to comment on a priceless scene that should've been in the film from the get go. It's a montage of moments with Johnny in the Baxter elevator, making the small compartment hot as chick after chick gets in the elevator and essentially undress a bit. It's just an absolutely priceless scene. How that didn't make it into the theatrical version is beyond me.

Also, the opening credits are really nice. They're kind of a rip off of Spider-Man 2 but they're still pretty nice. It sets the film up really, really well.
