Wasn't there speculation that Fox wasn't allowed to crossover the F4/X-men because of rights issues? I'm guessing thats why they never moved forward on this?
Is it?I remember there being rumors of a FF/X-Men crossover film years ago. So that isn't news to me. Interesting Paul Greengrass was involved. Now that is new
Don't underestimate Sue and her energy shields.Theoretically Iceman should be able to defeat the Fantastic Four singlehandedly if he was powerful enough. When the Fantastic Four are facing him, all he'd need to is send a massive icy blast wave in their direction. They can't outrun it since none of them have superspeed and whilst human torch might not be taken out completely on the first go, it should freeze the other 3 solid.

She could take Iceman down if she also turns invisible. He doesn't have superspeed either
Yes, yes I can.Can you imagine the fox logo with the F and X both fading out at the start of the film?
If Iceman fired off the ice blast wave first (something akin to the water rushing towards the X-Jet after the dam burst at Alkali lake) then Sue Storm's invisibility won't do her any good. As for the energy shields, the extreme cold temperature would probably make it extremely difficult for her to concentrate and keep them up, though that's assuming the shields don't protect from extreme temperatures.
Am I the only one who feels like I’m watching them argue if Mighty Mouse can beat up Superman in Stand by Me?
These are fictional characters. Any character can defeat any other character. It just depends on what the writer wants to happen.
“Howard the Duck creeps up behind Sue Storm with a 0.38 revolver pointed at her head.
She starts to turn, he pulls the trigger, and Sue falls in a red mist.”
There. Howard the Duck just defeated the most powerful member of the FF.
This is true in a technical sense, but only with an added corollary: ". . . and if there is no internal consistency such that one can meaningfully determine outcomes based on anything but random writer whim, than the story is badly written".
Please don't get me started on the Flash........................I used to watch the TV version of the Flash, but couldn’t handle the fact that he so easily outmatched most of the people he faced, but the writers never actually has him use his power properly.
“Oh look, that bad guy is pointing a freeze-ray gun at us. I guess I’ll just stand here and do whatever he says rather than... I don’t know... maybe run over there and snatch the gun from him in a fraction of the time it would take for him to pull the trigger.”![]()

I mean as long as the FoX-Men have Jean Grey and Storm, that battle is a no contest.
Name one time Foxmen Storm ever used her powers to their fullest potential. She whipped up some tornados in X2, 'tis true but she immediately stopped doing anything after that. Storm could have easily stopped the mini-tsunami and/or lifted the Blackbird into the sky at the end of the movie instead of doing f-all and looking scared. The solar wind bit in DP was okay but she did little beyond that. Storm was an even more useless Horseperson than Angel! I know portraying her powers is expensive but the way she was used in Foxmen was pathetic.
