Is there a certain movie you loved from the past that you would like to remake into your own, why and how would you do it and who would you cast in the movie? Well, if you ask me, I'd to remake one of my fave B-Movies,

"Cleo/Leo"

It's a male chauvinist's worst nightmare !

Leo, an egocentric, sexist businessman, who thinks he's God's gift to women, gets a taste of his own medicine when he tries picking up the wrong woman: a murderous psycho who shoots him. Leo falls off a bridge and emerges from the river, inexplicity transformed into a beautiful woman. Naming herself Cleo, she (he) begins to place herself in Leo's life. While avoiding sexist office types and trying to find a way to turn herself back into a man, "Cleo" begins to develop her own personality that begins to take over Leo's.

Instead of Leo being a chauvinist, he'd be a nice guy who respects women, but has personal problems of his own. His GF leaves him and marries a rich man and a male chauvinist named Kevin has plans to take over the company he works for, forcing him to quit. And if things couldn't get any worse, a crazed lunatic woman decides to take her anger out on an innocent Leo, she shoots him (but in reality misses) and he falls into the river, emerging into a gorgeous woman who names herself Cleo, how about that?

Now as far as casting:

Cerina Vincent & James Van Der Beek as Cleo Curtis/Leo Curtis

Wasn't that Blake Edwards' Switch?

If possible, I'd like to see a remake of Freaks.

Freaks? Can you be more specific?

It's a really old movie from the 1930's, done by the same guy who made Dracula with Bela Lugosi. It's about a bunch of circus sideshow freaks. All of the people who played the freaks in that movie actually were circus sideshow freaks. There's one guy who has no arms or legs, who rolls and lights a cigarette with just his mouth.

"Gooble-Gobble! Gooble-Gobble! We accept her! We accept her! One of us! One of us!"

There's a good handful of B-movies/50's creature features that I'd like to remake XD None of the classics like creature from the black lagoon or even PLan nine, but ones that could have potential, like This Island Earth or The Giant Claw :P

not a fave movie but I'd like to make SM3 my way.
I'd use all the elements in the actual movie but I would change the screen times of each character. I would reove gwen stacy though as she serves no purpose.

GG2
would have the most screen time in the movie as he is the main villian

Sandman
would be reduced to a cameo villian that has no motivation beyond robbing banks. his (sandman) family would be removed and his link to uncle ben's murder would be removed also.

Spider-man
would have the symbiote on the entire movie and would only remove the symbiote at the very end in the bell tower

EBJ
would be given more screen time to develop his hatred of peter/spider-man

Venom
would appearing in the final credits so is essentially pushed into another movie.

direction I would take the movie:
* I would have it so the city totally mistrusts peter so the parade would be gone.

* instead of peter being 'travolta' he would be grim and angry and as spider-man he would be completely out of control to the point the police set up a task force to bring him in (capt stacy would be in charge).

* MJ/aunt may relationship with peter will strained because of the symbiote

* JJJ will be having a field day with a black suited spidey on the rampage.

* the climax would have GG2 on one side and the police on the other side.
GG2 would get killed accidently and the grief and guilt will send peter to the bell tower to get rid of the black. MJ would have nothing to do with the climax.

the climax will involve;
black suit spidey
GG2
police/SWAT
special task force for bringing down superhumans

the tone of the movie would be much darker than SM1 and SM2 but the movie will end on a high note as he makes a final swing over the city in his famous red and blues.

If there's any movies I want to be remade, its because I dont like them.

Them...giant ants terrorizing humans...that would be an awesome movie.

I despise most remakes in principle, yet I loved Let Me In and True Grit this year....either the remakes are getting better or I am just resigned to accepting them.

Anyway, the one remake I always thought could be really cool if done well, and I would want to do, was The Wolf Man. Then Universal finally remade it, but the screenplay was all wrong and they blew the opportunity.

big trouble in little china

short circuit - live action wall.e

the goonies

E.T

Jaws

The Expendables.

You know I'd rock that shizzle.

who would you remake it with????

I would rather do a continuation of Jaws than a remake...Jaw5, another shark attacks in Amity Island and the tourism council tries to keep it quiet so they dont loose summer money. Conservationists would travel there and try to save the shark even though it is killing people. Caught in the middle is a young man who's gf gets killed by the shark and he vows to go after it.

Oh no, Freaks is such a great example of something that should be left well alone. It's so of it's time in a way, I cant imagine a modern day remake. The fact that the film is still technically illegal in some countries is testament to that.

I'd probably remake Jaws 2 and 3 both together into one film as SHARK CITY, a sequel in which Amity Island has found ways to capitalize on its shark-attack past and the Town Council gets the idea of sponsoring a big shark hunt, the Quint Memorial Monster Shark Rally, which puts Chief Brody (an aquaphobe who nearly lost his life to one of the beasts) and a visiting marine biologist with a passion for sharks at odds with each other. This conflict of interest spills over into Amity's populace and eventually stokes a movement by a group of concerned citizens led by Mrs. Kintner who remember the first nightmare and want the beaches closed while this event is going on, and as a result of the growing controversy and in spite of taking precautions for public safety like underwater fencing as well as shark towers and a patrol copter, the Amity Town Council this time actually takes the consideration of postponing the event and closing the beaches seriously in spite of the massive influx in revenue that Shark Fever has generated on Amity. But by the time they act it's already too late: another outsized great white, ticked that its normal food supply is being siphoned by a growing number of finny neighbors, has decided to take matters into its own teeth...and that newly-opening seaside resort on the other side of the island looks like it's going to provide some fine dining. Especially for that rush-hour crowd of smaller sharks who've just had their Council-approved chum lines cut off. I'd focus the first half of the movie strictly on the conflict between Brody and the icthyologist and how that ends up being paralleled around them in the rest of the town, and any trace of sharks we see in the first half of the picture are all just the lesser sharks that are being caught and strung up almost mercilessly by visiting shark hunters and that in no way possible could come close to being Our Shark...heck, we wouldn't even hear the John Williams theme until the second hour of the picture is well underway. But it all gradually builds toward the climactic feeding frenzy at the resort.

But in all seriousness, I don't really personally feel the need to remake things myself. I'd rather stick with my own ideas, rather than try to work with established ones.

Freaks was already horribly remade by MTV in the 90s

I'd also like to add Death Game to my list

Not a favorite by any means, but I'd remake The Star Wars Prequels.

I'd make them with no Jar-Jar Binks. I'd use less CGI and more practical effects. There will be absolutely no mention of midiclorians at all, The Force will maintain its sense of mystery. There will be more action in Episode I. Anikin will be a little older (about 12 or so, rather than 9) and played by someone who can actually ACT. Episode II wouldn't change too much, except that Anikin would be played by a more talented actor, the clone troopers will be people in costume rather than CGI, the battle droids will be done with practical effects, etc. I'd also have Anikin's stepfather mention how out of character it is for tuskan raiders to take prisoners. Episode III would be very similar to the original, except I would make Anikin's turn to the Dark Side take a little longer. I'd show more of the assault on the Jedi Temple (Anikin fighting Jedi masters and padawans in lightsaber duels). I'd probably start the movie earlier in the war. Maybe show how Anikin got that scar on his face. Maybe have more instances of Obi-Wan's description of him as "the best star pilot in the galaxy, and a cunning warrior. And he was a good friend".

I would remake Batman Returns. I would strip the film of Burton's signature macabre and cheese and turn it into a more serious film, more like B89 (complete with Anton Furst's production design). Because on paper, Batman Returns is one of the best Batman stories ever written and if Burton hadn't gone all Edward Scissorhands/Beetlejuice on it, it would've been an amazing film.

Same cast, different script, different editors.

I think Stallone did a bang up job especially on a movie that he broke his neck on...they are doing a sequel too
