Sarge 2.0 goes to the movies!

That's because Marvel ****es Wolverine to the extent where he does fall into the mold as a leader. Which he isn't at all. He is in fact a loner who is reluctant and wants to do things on his own. A loose cannon. Wolverine and the X-Men, is terrible because of this.

But I'm contradicting myself here.

I blame Fox for what they did to him in the whole series. I'm a huge Wolverine fan but I would have liked to see him take a seat back for a lot of it. My favorite scene in the whole series is the one in your Avy. That's more like him than any of the rest of the stuff they have.

The new cartoon is fueling on what Fox sold and that was him. They figured he would sell the movie better than anyone which is a shame. I think they screwed over Cyclops the whole series, made Rogue the opposite of her personality, and made Storm weaker than she could have ever been. In all, I like the series excluding some of 3 and most if not all of the Wolverine movie but they didn't follow what they should have followed. The casts were mostly phenomenal and the production and the stories were all great, its how the third one was written dialogue wise and how they went with story. Same thing that happened to Alien: Ressurection. They essentially filmed the script chosen but it's how the storyboards and scenes went that ruined it. And the casting of some characters, mainly Call (Winona Ryder).

It didn't. But don't tell The Guard that. You'll get a paragraph by paragraph dissection which does nothing but explain that the "plot" sort of makes sense on a basic level as long as you fill in the multitude of gaps with speculation and stuff that's on Wikipedia or the "official website" but not actually in the movie. Apparently as long as you include the information somewhere else, you don't have to bother including it in the movie.

I actually agree with Guard's defense of the film. It was no masterpiece of course, but I loved it just because it was great entertainment. I really do think the majority of people read too much into what it is or should have been. Hell I think the first film has more flaws than this one, but thats just me. It was simple to follow, humorous and entertaining, and sometimes thats all I want out of a film, especially one dealing with robots based off of toys.

I guess the issue for me is I judge films on whether they have coherent plots, are entertaining and tell interesting stories. This did half of the entertaining part and none of the others. I think saying "Looking into a film too much" is hard to say when a film tries to be so dramatic and epic that's almost what it is demanding. It's demanding a high level of attention in its elaborate story telling. The fact that it starts out with a "Since the beginning of man/time/whatever" moment and fails in telling an interesting and coherent story...well of course the movie critics cinema buffs are going to ask questions and fell disappointed. If the movie wanted to be simple pop corn fun then it should have simplified the plot lines and perhaps not steal so many other movies' plot lines.

I am so pessimistic about films like this I have trouble enjoying them but this I told myself to let go and try and like it. But it was so "face palming" that I couldn't take it. But what do I know...the masses love this movie.

Not too mention the 9/11 reference and imagery. Not exactly a good choice in crafting a "dumb giant robot movie".

Yeah, I noticed they came off as pretentious in in ROTF in terms of the government. That really bugged me.

Agreed. I love Logan, but he did become too much.

And Cyclops needs redemption. Now I love X1 and X2, and if you're gonna do Wolverine you have to explain his past, at least get that out of the way, so they did it in the best way possible. I can't really complain about X2 because it's in my top 5 comic book movies.

It should of been Scott to get through to Jean at the end of X3. X3 could of made a great thing out of Cyclops stepping up and taking the driver's seat. Logan could of switched with him. Logan had no point in X3 if you think about it. His past and **** was already dealt with, and they *****fied him.

Wolverine definitely needed a back seat by the third movie. I agree.

Your's and Episode's reviews are second to none. Keep up the good work, mayne!

Haha, great review of ROTF! Have you got a Dark Knight review in this thread?
