Favorite comic book-ish sound effect

    Usually the sounds made by various weapons or explosions are spelled in comics as we all know, and some have actually become pop culture in their significance, like "snikt" or "bamf". Do you have any favorite ones that you just like, or were so weird that only someone smoking could have created it?

    I like the infamous "krakoooomm!" phrase that always is present when lightning and thunder are seen.

    i dont think i ever actually noticed sfx other than the obvious snikt, bamf, and twip

    i guess theres always the pshhhhhhhhhhhh acid sound

    In Immortal Iron Fist there has been 'SHHHIRT' for a ripping shirt, and 'SSSSWOOOORD' when someone was swinging their sword.

    Matt Fraction seems to be king of sound-effects. He put FWOCKA into Punisher (see above) and BLOORT in the Order.

    I'll go with 'SNIKT!' as one of my favourites. I liked what Greg Pak did with WWH though...
    ...Hulk slams something, and the panel is covered in 'GGGGGRRRRREGGGPPPPAKKK!'
    Pretty sure there was one for JRjr too.

    Funny story about that. Fraction said in a Word Balloon podcast that he never put those sound effects into his scripts and it was Aja who came up with those. Seeing that, he made an effort to add sound effects. I think Aja also provided us with "Neck'd!"

    I remember back in 91, the X-issue where Gambit and Bishop first fought, and Bishop punches Gambit, and the effect is, "skbow!"
