What's that moment that you'll never forget from an anime? Is it a death of an awesome character? Or an adrenaline fueled fight sequence where the hero shows up just in time? I was bored and thought I'd see what some of you guys best memories of anime were. I guess spoilers are allowed, or otherwise you really couldn't talk about you're memories, but try and be careful with more current animes I guess (spoiler tags).

I have several, some from animes I don't even like anymore. I'll probably add more later as I remember them, but atm (and in no particular order) -

Light remembering who he was in Deathnote after getting his book back. His eyes glowing, screaming, then that smirk knowing he won. L giving him a "What's wrong best buddy?" look. Just loved that moment.

Wolfwood's
death
in Trigun. The way he just set down and gave that, "Not like this speech", I'll remember that for a long time.

Ichigo saving Rukia in Bleach. Everything was great from Ichigo stopping that firebird to Rukia's expression. The best bit tho was when the music kicked in and Ichigo kicked the three vice captain asses before any of them could hit the floor.

Naruto going berserk on Haku. Not much to say, was just a good introduction to Naruto's beastial side.

I'll add more later, atm I'm drawing a few blanks, I know I have a lot more to add.

My mind's drawing a blank. The only moment I got so far, because I was just watching it on youtube, is from the Fullmetal Alchemist movie .....

Mustang comes to the rescue and takes command. The musical score behind that moment makes it epic.

from Naruto ...
- Zabusa breaking down after Naruto's speech of Haku's undying loyalty to him.

Zabuza (to Naruto) : "Your words cut deep, deeper than any blade"

- Obito's dying words leading up to the eye transplant with Kakashi.

from Gurren Lagann ...

- Kamina's death. I almost bailed on the show after this.

from s-CRY-ed ...

Kimishima's death. Kazuma is giving him a piggy back ride after a fight with HOLY. Then Kazuma says something about him getting heavy all the sudden and to knock it off. He assumes that his buddy just went to sleep. It doesn't hit him that he just lost his best friend til they reach Kanami, who just starts balling.

from Chrono Crusade ...

Rosette screaming out that she doesn't want to die just before she bites it along with Chrono at her side.

from DBZ ...

Gohan & Cell are at a kamehameha stalemate. All the the Z fighters can't do ****. Just when it seems that Gohan is about to bite it. Vegeta jumps in and delivers the hit that knocks Cell off for a split second. Gohan wins.

from Gungrave ...

Grave breaking down. Then him and Harry offing each other at the end.

The ending to Azumanga Daioh.
The ending to Code Geass.
The ending to Cowboy Bebop.
The ending to Smaurai Champloo.

I'll post more as they come to mind.

Too many to list off the top of my head. But some personal highlights:

FATAL FURY: THE MOTION PICTURE
Laocorn, who has the abilities of a god, challenges hero Terry Bogard just after he's lost the second love of his life, Sulia.
"The next time I strike you, there will be nothing but stinking meat!"
"Don't you DARE underestimate me, you arrogant bastard!"

It's not the greatest anime, but I've loved that moment, and what followed, since I was in junior high.

While the Wolfwood bits for me in TRIGUN were good, I was satisfied by the final exchange and battle between Vash and Knives.
Just the way Knives opens the scene, "Did the humans treat you well?" set the tone perfectly.

Kaneda vs. Tetsuo in AKIRA, which is one of those all time classic moments. The runt of the motorcycle gang has become a virtual psychic god, and all Kaneda has to fight him with is a laser gun and his own guts. The movie is packed to the gills and very complicated from the manga, but that bit is good.

There are too many moments to count from YU YU HAKUSHO. I'd have to think on that one a while. The final episode where everyone is united and Yusuke returns is pretty satisfying.

It's an underrated movie since it was never released on US DVD, but the end of GREY: DIGITAL TARGET when Grey and Nova learn exactly how much the immense machine Big Mama controls their world and it's citizens and face an impossible battle for human dominance is a classic. Even if the end is a bit of a cop out. That entire film is basically a non-political allegory on the futility of war.

The final battle between Jubei and Genma in NINJA SCROLL is naturally the stuff of legends. Robert Kirkman all but ripped off the head-butting moment for an issue of INVINCIBLE and it's been over 15 years since that film was made.

The ending to the Lupin The Third special, ISLAND OF ASSASSINS (or IN MEMORY OF WALTHER P-37) is rather good. It's the only Lupin special in which the infamous thief isn't after some immense treasure, but instead a personal matter of revenge.

I've only seen a butchered fan-sub of this on YouTube last year, but there is a moment in AMON: APOCALYPSE OF DEVILMAN in which
Akira Fudo and the demon Amon are fighting for dominance and Amon considers Akira's humanity a weakness. Miki has been killed by a mob of hysterical anti-demon humans and Akira is ready to all but accept his death as penance until he meets Miki's spirit. She doesn't have to say a word as she basically forgives him. The music is quite beautiful and it's the closest I have come to crying over an anime in some time. It made up for Devilman being purple.

Each GOLGO 13 anime has had a special moment. In THE PROFESSIONAL, the duel between Golgo and Snake in an elevator will always stick with me. In QUEEN BEE, it is the post-credit sequence where Golgo honors the memory of Sonia (the titular "Queen Bee") and takes down a slew of nasty guys, including the pedo politician who sparked everything.

More later...

DBZ (Not sure if I even need spoilers for this show but I'll use them anyway)

Vegeta finally telling his son that he loves him and then sacrificing himself to save the planet that he learned to love as home. That and the time when Cell killed Trunks prompting Vegeta to go insane on Cell.

Naruto

Zabuza killing all of those mercenaries with only a kunai in his mouth.

Baki the Grappler

Orochi Doppo actually surprising and catching Yujiro Hanma off guard

Afro Samurai

In the second movie where a long thought dead Gino finally arises after being kept alive by robotic parts and saves Afro from being killed by his father.

G-Gundam

Kyoji/Schwartz death scene

Rurouni Kenshin

The first time seeing Battousai the man slayer taking over against the man who kidnapped Kaoru. Also the Shishio fight near the end of that arc. Lots of good moments in this anime

Yu Yu Hakusho

First time seeing Hiei unleash the Dragon of the Darkness Flame

Zoids

Berserk Fury vs Everyone

and...

Pokemon the Movie (Yea I said it)

You all know the moment.

Ho boy, where to start?

Trinity Blood:
To start with, episode 24. All of it. Come on, everyone gets a piece of the awesome pie in that episode.

Second, probably the meeting between Cardinal Sforza and Abel in episode 9, and the subsequent confrontation between Sforza and her half brother Cardinal Medici.

Third, the arrest of Alfonso D'Este in episode 10. Once again, much awesomeness all round.

Fourth, must surely be little Seth laying down the law in episode 19. She's queen of the vampires for a reason, kids.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex:
Erm, the Major blowing out a crook's ankle in the first episode.

The Tachikomas sacrifice (in both series).

The Major singlehandedly (literally) firing a BFG at the walker that tried to kerb stomp her.

The part of Solid State Society where Togusa gets cyber-hacked, and almost shoots himself in order to stop his daughter from being taken from him. He gets better, but hey, it's a great scene.

Le Chevalier D'Eon
Ehem, the sword fights.

The Empress Elizabetha and Katerina, laying down the law.

A few little in-jokes (Empress Elizabetha claiming that those who seek Russia's glory are her lovers (L'etat ces't moi children), as well as America being handed over to Britain without the French and Indian War)

Shakugan no Shana
To start with - the entire concept.

The final confrontation between Yuji, Shana and Friagne, and its aftermath (yes, I know it isn't quite as awesome as in the books, but hey, it's still cool).

Actually, the entire Yuji-Shana relationship is pretty cool.

Noein
Haruka, especially in tandem with Karasu and Yuu in denying Noein's existence (dontcha lova quantum mechanics!).

Atori literally flattening Shangri-La's army in the last two episodes. Oh yeah!

Ehem, the entire house being taken into Shangri-La in episode 20, and Haruka's mother's reaction.

Episode 21. Seriously, that episode's climax must be Yuu's crowning moment of awesome.

Gundam Wing
Heero vs Zechs. Every single one of them.

The final battle of the series.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Queen Relena.

Treize Khushrenada. That is all.

I think that pretty much covers it then.

I didn't start watching anime until a few of years ago and Full Metal Alchemist was my first anime to watch. While this may not be a "favorite moment" it is a moment that I will never forget. The death and funeral of Maes Hughes. That moment stuck with me at least the whole day when I first watched it.

Second is a cool moment in D. Gray-man. The crew of Lavi, Bookman, and the others were getting their butts handed to them in Edo. The episode closes with things looking grimm and a voice over of the Section chief talking to Allen Walker then you see Kanda, Marie, and General Teidoll show up spotting the chaos.

My third moment would have to be from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. Keichi is reading a newspaper article on what has happened in Hinamizawa. He finds out no everything is as it seems. The scene cuts to Rena walking back towards him with a cleaver with a languid look. You hear the Cicada's cry then it fades to black.

My last moment I will make quick. In Bleach after his battle with Captain Kurosuchi Uryuu is walking towards Rukia's cell and losing his powers. After he walks up the steps he runs face to face with Captain Tousen.

I think it'd be more fitting to show the part that is my fav rather than try to tell which part. Now before you tell me that there are far better moments than this, I know there are. This one moment just had a lot of impact on me for some reason. Just the last part of it though, when he gets off the elevator.

Easily the fight between Ken from Fist of the North Star and the giant guard. "Your already dead". Also just about anytime Vash shows he's really a badass in Trigun

There are two that stand out,

The first is from DBZ during the fight between Goku and Cell at the Cell Games when Goku powers up a Kamehameha and Cell is so sure it is a waste and that he can easly dodge it, the Goku "instant transmissions" right up next to him and blasts his a$$

The second is not so much a moment from a show as much as a moment in time... When Robotech the Macross Saga started i was hooked, not just on the show but on anime.

I'm a Starblazers / Battleship Yamato man myself.

This is of the greatest openings ever.

There are only 206 Days left until the Earth is uninhabitable.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

Cowboy Beebop
Green Bird scene, when Spike is falling out the window reminiscing on his old days as a gangster.

DBZ, I'll just name one as my fanboyism could let me go on forever.
Final Flash angainst Cell

Naruto
Kimimaro's Braken Dance/Death Scene

Detective Conan
Death of the Knight Baron/Ramiro Rojas

Monster
The Monster Without A Name story

Ugh so many moments to choose from....

Fullmetal Alchemist: When it is revealed to us what is on the other side of the gate. Edward meeting with his father during the raid with the classical piece playing was awesome.

Code Geass: The Introduction of Emperor Lelouch, and his command to everyone in the hall to "acknowledge me".

Ghost in the Shell SAC: When the Tachikoma's sacrifice themselves infront of Batou and his favorite one draws a tear while saying "Goodbye Mr Batou". :csad:

Gurren Lagann: Kamina's death after performing that super crazy over the top epic finishing move with Simon.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: There are quite a few moments that made the hair at the back of my neck stand up, but the best would have been when Shinji discovers that the forth Child whom he nearly killed is Toji. That scream at the end is shocking.

Dragonball Z: Piccolo sacrafices himself to save Gohan from Nappa's blast.

Fooly Cooly: The Arival of Atomsk :awesome:

I have heaps of other moments but these are my most memorable.

PS. Awesome thread, this reminds me of why anime is so amazing.

When Ash comes back to life from the tears of Pok'emon in Pok'emon the Movie. Total Epicness. I think my tears even helped he come to life.

Turn A Gundam, Yanny Oviess attempting to re-enter Earth.

1251287436500.jpg

In the Rurouni Kenshin Series: When Kenshin and Saito are fighting in the dojo and Kenshin is getting whopped and Saito is doing everything he can to bring out the Battōsai and then he finally does. Man i went crazy i think i might have sharted i was so excited.

DBZ
When Cell first shows up and you get a lcose up of him absorbing someone

Bleach
Hollow Ichigo against Byakuya

Inuyasha
When Sesshomarus first turns into a giant dog demon

Yu Yu Hakusho
Heia vs Bui

Cowboy Bebop
Final fight between Spike and Vicious

Trigun
Every Vash moment ever

Naruto
Gaara going beserka dn letting the Shukaku take control

FMA
Kimbley vs Scar vs Alphonse

Light regaining his memories in Death Note.

Eva Unit 01 busting out of its restraints and absorbing the S2 engine.

End of cowboy bebop.

Thats all i can think of right now. :)

Very first post....but here it goes. I only have a few I can remember I'll post more later.

One Piece
1: Arlong vs Luffy. It was packed full of emotion especially when Luffy went balistic after seeing the room Nami was kept in for most of her life.
2: "Doctor" Hiluluk death and Chopper's departure from Drum Island
3: Usopp Vs Luffy. Friend vs friend
4: Enies Lobby Arc the whole arc showed how far they would go for one of their own.
5: Going Merry's funeral
6: Zoro vs Kuma and Zoro taking all of Luffy's pain from fighting Moria makes you want to cry man tears for what Zoro did for his friend.
7: Portgas D. Ace, Luffy's Brother is actually Gol D. Roger's son and Luffy is Dragon's Son(Luffy's was revealed before the current arc)
8: Whitebeard hugging Squad after he stabbed him(Whitebeard) and telling him he's still like a son no matter what he had done.

Bleach
1: Ichigo rescues Rukia
2: Zaraki vs Nnoitra and Nnoitra's death
3: Ulquiorra's Death

Naruto, Now I don't like this series but one fight really stands out and that's...
Gaara vs Naruto

EL Hazard
Makoto shares(or creates)memories with Ifurita

Kenshin:
Hiko attacking Kenshin in a last ditch effort to teach him the value of his own life, resulting in Kenshin's emotional epiphany and his mind opening to the succession technique. Goosebumps people, goosebumps.

Naruto:
Gaara vs. Rock Lee at the Chunin exam. Seriously, one of the roughest, creative, most dramatic fights I've ever seen, anime or otherwise. Rock Lee's unconcious, broken body pulling itself up to continue the fight was tear-jerking.
Bebop:
Spike vs. Pierre Le Fou. Such a disturbing episode. Pierre's "Hello, boy . . ." still haunts me. And the gunfight all over the abandoned carnival is fantastic. It's really a toss-up for me with this show between this and the first fight vs. Viscious in the church - nothing like a gun/sword stalemate!

Trigun:
Legato mind-raping Vash in the town square unbeknownst to everyone else. When he just reaches out and snaps that little boys neck - I jumped! Then jumped again when Vash goes to leap into action and sees the boy is actually fine! Wicked double take! Best use of telepathy!
Spirited Away:
Haaku remembers his full name, and simultaneously Chihiro remembers him saving her in the river. Misty-eyed material.

That's a good start. I may be back with more. Go, reminiscing!

When Sonic and Shadow teamed up on Biolizzard in Sonic X.

When Sonic and Shadow teamed up on Biolizzard in Sonic X.

I'd say the same if I were talking about video games. Referring to Sonic Adventure 2 of course. I noticed you love this show a bit. Ever actually get to play the games?

One of my favorite moments recently, "Human Yuki" tugging at Kyon's arm wishing him to stay in her house after he chooses to leave when he sees the eerie return of psychotic renegade AI, Asakura.

Wait, didn't happen in anime form yet? Only in words from the light novel? Oh well, it'll be seen in a few months time, and even then no one knows what I'm talking about!

Shippuden 138
Susano'o stomps Hydramaru and Itachi dies.

End of Evangelion, Asuka's final fight:
[YT]vtjJe4elifI[/YT]

Gundam 08th MS Team, The shuddering Mountain parts 1 and 2. Specifically Shiro's fight with Norris (even though he completely missed, that stunt he pulled with using his back pack to slow his descent down the tower while he fell was awesome, plus ripping his own arm off and beating Norris' gouf with it), and the final showdown with the Apsalaus.
[YT]-ubiNqkTMIU[/YT]
Wait til the end after the credits to see what happened to Shiro. That was the first time I'd ever seen a cartoon that had such a serious ending. It still impacts me today. [YT]CQQuP-ndAGU[/YT]
