What's your most favorite track from the new soundtrack?

After three times viewing, I can't get these out of my head:

Rey's Theme - I dunno it just stuck

Kylo's Theme (which were a part of Attack on Jakku Village and Kylo Ren Arrives at the Battle) - I immediately know it's Kylo Ren's arriving in the opening scene at Jakku from the obvious score, on first time viewing lol
Nothing can beat Imperial March, but I find Kylo's theme quite catchy too

March of the Resistance - such a cool music!

The Jedi Steps - beautiful!

Well, technically, Jedi steps and finale is the best one because it also combines the March of the Resistance as well as Rey's theme. Those three tunes are really good if you ask me. The rest is just okay.

Jedi steps....the rest of the score was meh.

Only a couple of tracks stand out to me on this score:

The Scavenger
Rey's Theme
March of the Resistance
The Jedi Steps and Finale

So yeah, I'll vote Jedi Steps because it combines all of those and has the Force theme.

The Abduction is one of my favorites as well as the Jedi Steps and Finale. And Rey's Theme of course is beautiful.

I was disappointed with the soundtrack after my first listen but after repeated listens I'm enjoying it much more. I think it's missing a "music video" song, something like The Imperial March, Duel of the Fates, Across the Stars, etc. It may supposed to be Rey's Theme but it's not quite as "big" (is that the right word?) as the themes from the other movies.

Looking at the track list again though there are a lot of tracks I enjoy: The Main Title and Attack on Jakku, The Scavenger, Finn's Confession, The Starkiller, Han and Leia, The Ways of the Force, Scherzo for X-Wings and Farewell and The Trip.

I guess I like this soundtrack more than I let on, haha.

There are a few piece of gold but it's the weakest score in the franchise unfortunately. Which is still a strong score seeing as Williams is that good but there was nothing like Duel of Fates level good.

I think this score is a bit underrated. Where I take points off is actually not the compositions themselves, but the sound of it. I didn't think I'd be able to tell it's not the LSO, but somehow it sounds a bit smaller to me. Minor nitpick though, because it's very well-recorded and sounds great. Just doesn't sound quite like the other ones.

I really enjoy Rey's theme a lot. It's not as big and epic as some of the stuff from the prequels, but it doesn't have to be. It reflects a character with humble origins, and it has a different, graceful- dare I say feminine quality to it. It's been stuck in my head ever since I saw the movie.

The Jedi Steps is absolutely fantastic though. Instant chills. I will be so happy if that theme carries over to VIII and becomes the theme for mentor, Jedi Master Luke.

Jedi Steps and Finale because omg, that scene...

The score, or at least the new tracks, underwhelmed me when I first saw it but they've since been growing on me. I really liked The Jedi Steps and Torn Apart.

my favorite track is Jedi Steps. it gives me chills everytime I listen to it.

after that, Rey's Theme and then Farewell and the Trip.

For me it's Reys theme, jedi steps, Han and Leia, the one before jedi steps. Yes the score is underrated and I feel Williams might have held back but I think it might be a good thing cause I felt he over did it for the PT. There's some tracks I have loved on each star wars soundtrack so with TFA...I'm not surprised that there are a few that are worth listening to over and over again. 😂

I have to agree. The more I watch it the more I love the score. I actually cannot stop humming Kylo's theme. But Rey's Theme, March of the Resistance, Scherzo for X-Wing, The Falcoln, Jedi Steps, Snoke. There is a lot of great music in there.

The latest one that I started to fall in love with is that Kylo theme. Many variations of it throughout the film.

I love this score, IMO Williams did it again. Mixing old with new and having that same sound. Favorite tracks so far right now are

Attack on the Jakku Village
Rey's Theme
Snoke's Theme
March of the Resistance
The Jedi Steps and Finale = goosebumps

Well, Williams used 90 union musicians for The Force Awakens plus a 24 member choir, as opposed to the LSO's 103 members. So it is a bit smaller.

Depending on Rian Johnson's post-production schedule, I think Williams will return to London for Episode VIII.

If Williams returns at all. I hope he does. I wouldn't put this score up with anything in the OT, but that would've probably been asking too much. This score caught me off guard. It's more understated than maybe any of the others and really does not fall back very much on the old themes, both traits I admire but was not expecting. It's very much modern Williams, who is a different composer in many ways to the Williams of the late 70's/early 80's. I'll need to give it some time to fully appreciate it I think.

I have seen the movie 2 times now and loved the movie and the music much more the second time. There is a lot of good music in this movie so this is hard to pick on but I have to say the rey theme it is catchy and its kind of fetting because rey is also the best part of this movie.

:jd: Glad to hear that I am not the only one that fells like this score is underratied and really good. I don't know where I would rank it compared to the other scores but I have heard a lot of negative coments from people about it and I think it has a lot of really good catchy music in the movie.

I think they confirmed he was scoring the whole trilogy? At least, I hope.

The score is subtle and emotional which was a good move on Williams part. I definitely appreciated it more on a second viewing. I hope he returns to duel of the fates in the future though, that would be really cool. When Rey and Ren are more mature and powerful, it would be a great compliment to a rematch

I really love Kylo's theme. Especially during the moment when Kylo looks over at FN2187 as he is leaving after the attack on the village.

The score as a whole is really growing on me with repeated viewings.

Rey's theme is the only one that stuck. Obviously I'm not including the classics as that's not really fair.
