Favorite movie with worse Cage performance: Peggy Sue Got Married. Nepotism is the only reason I can come up with that Coppola didn't tell him to knock that **** off.

Just saw Joe. F*** me, was it good. Cage was outstanding; his performance was subtle and layered; he perfectly portrays a man tormented by inner demons who is a bit of a time bomb but still a good person at heart. The film also featured another great performance by Tye Sheridan; between this and Mud, that kid is becoming one of my favorite actors.

Also, saw the trailer for another Cage film called The Frozen Ground that looked good. Anyone know if it's worth renting?

Refreshing my memory on IMDB and I'm realizing how many of his films I haven't actually seen (and I don't just mean all the bad ones).

But I'll go with Raising Arizona.

As far as his performances go, while he was good in Raising Arizona, I think he was strongest in Moonstruck and Leaving Las Vegas.

First, great topic, I love Nic Cage, he's the man !

Personally, I think he'd be brilliant as the Joker - probably the biggest missed casting opportunity ever (okay, maybe not, but close).


For me the quintessential Nic Cage movie is Wild at Heart. It's a David Lynch classic, and Cage plays it to the hilt. I bet he still wears that Snakeskin jacket sometimes.


After that my list gets pretty predictable:

Face Off, Lord of War, Con Air, The Rock.....

actually my second favorite Cage film has to be Gone in 60 seconds. Even with a strong ensemble cast Cage shines.

Not talking performance here but, as the title of the thread says, favorite Cage movie.

For me it has to be, quite honestly, Snake Eyes. There's something about the atmosphere and tension that makes me love that movie.
