Do you have any particular favorites when in comes to scenes in scifi movies? I have a few...precious few.
-- the scene where Jodie Foster's character in Contact journeys in space and meets her dad...I always cry at that part. It gets to me...on two levels, one she meets her dad but it also has his implicity spiritual/judeo christian context that makes it so sweet.
-- Tears in the Rain from Blade Runner... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IB86fXIXLmk its just so touching, I have no idea why...but it is one of the greatest monologues in a film. ever.
-- The Gattaca Intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcjuTx0YKcw so smooth and already so sad
-- like the WHOLE movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence, but most importantly the final scenes...beautiful and sad...really underscores our own mortality.
-- the scene in Minority Report where Agatha tells John and wife about their son
