Female Dexter: Craigslist Murderer Responsible For 20+ Murders

It's insane, scary and believable ... a 19-year-old girl admits to not only killing a guy who hired her for sex on Craigslist, she says she killed so many others, "When I hit 22, I stopped counting."

Miranda Barbour is in a Pennsylvania jail, awaiting trial for allegedly stabbing Troy LaFerrara 20 times, because she tested him and said she was only 16 and he responded by saying he'd still have sex with her. And -- as a molestation victim herself -- that set her off.

Barbour said in a jailhouse interview over the weekend she's been killing people since she was 13. She insists she only kills bad people, claiming, "I did this to people who did bad things and didn't deserve to be here anymore."

In an interview with the Daily Item ... Barbour says the first murder coincides with joining a satanic cult in Alaska.

As for the LaFerrara murder, Barbour says she and her husband of 3 weeks killed him in their car.

Barbour says she has no remorse but does not want to be sprung from jail because, "If I were to be released I would do this again."

I'd love to see national news sensationalize the **** outta something like this just so I can here the bickering back and forth between everybody. Clearly she's insane but I just wanna see what Nancy Grace has to say about something like this. Solely for entertainment purposes of course

Chances are in your lifetime somebody has seen something you've done as bad enough to them to justify them doing to you what this girl did. That applies to all of us. Where would you draw the line?

It's a dangerous precedent because what some people consider to be "bad things" are completely acceptable or normal for others. What level of "bad things" is acceptable to kill someone? The obvious for some people is being the wrong religion. Or being the wrong skin color. Being gay. Being in Florida apparently.

I hate profiling but just by glancing at her I can see a LOT of insecurity, I think she's doing this for the attention.

yeah Mike not saying its not impossible just that i find this high implausible. and what makes this story crazy is that i just watched the episode of Dexter where the other dude was claiming to be a serial killer( the episode with his brother) just to gain notoriety . that show has certainly shaken something loose in the public's persona and its fixation with serial killers.

She wants attention and probably a book deal. Or a movie based on her life.

The media should stop writing about her and interviewing her and let her die in prison as an unknown killer.

The authorities investigating her claims think that she may well be telling the truth. Anyone doubting that she could have lured men in because of her looks doesn't have a very realistic view of male behavior, especially when it comes to picking up prostitutes.

Woman accused in Craigslist slaying tells newspaper: I've killed lots of others

A Pennsylvania woman charged in the November slaying of a man she and her husband met through Craigslist has told a newspaper that she killed many more victims, and authorities told CNN Sunday they are investigating the woman's shocking claims.

A law enforcement source close to the investigation said Miranda Barbour's new claims could be "the real deal." "It's conceivable," the source said, who did not want to be identified because of the ongoing investigation.

From prison on Friday, the 19-year-old Barbour told a reporter for the Daily Item in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, that she participated in at least 22 killings in the past six years in Alaska, Texas, North Carolina and California.

"When I hit 22, I stopped counting," Barbour is quoted as saying in a phone interview from Northumberland County Prison on Friday night. "I can pinpoint on a map where you can find them."

Sunbury Police Chief Steve Mazzeo told CNN that investigators have been in contact with the FBI and law enforcement in some of the states where Barbour has lived.

"We investigate all leads just because that's the proper protocol to follow through," Mazzeo added.

The FBI said it's too early to say what its involvement may be in the case.

"The FBI's Philadelphia Division has recently been in contact with the Sunbury Police Department regarding Miranda Barbour, and will offer any assistance requested in the case," it said in a statement to CNN.
