The 5 elements of a plot typically are:

1. Central problem or conflict, usually near the beginning of the story.

2. Rising Action which includes all the events or consequences created by the conflict.

3. Climax, in which the rising action results in a turning point. Often this section is very dramatic.

4. Denouement, in which various of the issues disclosed at the beginning and played out in the rising action and climax are settled or explained.

5. Resolution, the final result of everything that came before -it can be good or bad, happy or sad.

You don't have to guess by numbered elements, this is just to help you think of what elements are likely to be included through the course of the movie.

As of now, it is hard not to give some credence to Bruce Wayne being in Metropolis during the destruction from MOS. I know people frown on the flashback possibility as it is a quick easy assumption to make. I just think there is a possibility of

Bruce was visiting based on his studying of this newly found alien, guising his visit as a business one with Lex. He was visiting Metropolis when the destruction happened, and saved lives as he could during the destruction. Seeing what happened and the lives lost makes Bruce question whether Superman can be trusted with all that power.
