Now the thing i find with Subs is that once you're used to an predetermined set, when you read another set of subs it feels all completely off
Good point. I owned a bootleg of Rebirth of Fusion for years, and the official US version that just came out just doiesn't do it for me

it's so fickle yet so important.

:(

it's not as bad as listening to a song where something has been bleeped out and you fill the blank only to find out in the original it's another swear word entirely :( i just by the censored version and carry on with my own version of the lyrics.

It's a shame how overrated this film is simply because it has FF7 in the title. It's all action and thin on story, and it's over the top action at that. To me, the abilities the characers exhibit in this don't match up with their video game counter parts....in game the characters were much more down to earth in their abilities. There was no sticking to walls and practically flying...bah!
They should have taken all this time and effort into making an rpg that is actually good....cause they are so few these days.

I gotta say it...FF7 was an amazing rpg, but at the same time it was a catalyst that brought a torrent of garbage rpgs...why? Because it brought rpgs to the mainstream, and that affected qaulity.

Um, actually Vincent and Sephiroth DID Fly.

There's also that bit where Tifa is able to body slam things 100 times her size

and Cloud slashing his sword 60 times in one second, or jumping up in the air summoning meteors (a natural ability, mind you, no materia)

also keep in mind these are people who could battle one of the weapons and win, with no materia if you trained them right

I still maintain they went overboard.
The occasional feat exhibited in game doesn't compare to the constant over overblown acts they showed in the film.

If there had been a decent story element to the movie then I probably would have overlooked it, but there wasn't.

FFVI is awesome, they should make a movie about the game

ooooh.. and Chrono Trigger:O

ff8's story is horrible. why do are these soldiers in training acting like saved by the bell rejects? don't get me started on the coincidences either, like how they all grew up together, their nanny starting their school and then becoming a witch, laguna becoming president of esthar. damn, ff8 had a terrible storyline and translation. laguna is supposed to be a writer, yet he never says anything remotely intelligent. all the characters are underdeveloped. the whole game was unbalanced. damn, i could go on and on. IMO, ff8 was a rushjob piggybacking on the success of ff7.

I really enjoyed FF9, I'd personally love to see a movie about the game.

And of course Chrono Trigger would be wicked too. I don't know if I'd like it to be 3D though, as the look and feel is so intrinsically tied to the Toriyama art.

To be fair, what was seen in advent children was no far cry from what's been viewed in pretty much most anime action sequences, infact i felt it was pretty grounded considering.

I think a lot of viewers are forgetting it's actually a pice of 3D anime when describing the action, if you don't like the action, it just seems like you're not a fan of anime fights themselves.

I did like the action, but just wish it had stayed grounded a bit more.

This is a very good point.

This is true. Most anime fights go for stylization and cool factor over realism.

which is why i feel it's such an appealing genreand i'm sure others feel the same way about it.

Even in the manga for Battle Royale where characters don't have super powers, they are still doing all sorts of outrageous things people can't do in real life. Though, that said, the movie for Battle Royale made the action a lot more realistic.

Watched this the other day. I'm sure it'd be alot more appealing if I'd played the actual game but it kicked major arse nonetheless.

Hey you might be on to something there? What if square-enix started making movie sequels to these games that people demand game sequals for. They need to get on Chrono trigger and Xenogears!

My 11 year old nephew loved the movie because of it's fanatsic action scenes. My sister and I dug it also, then again I am a Anime/Manga fan.

yeah,it finally arives....thank god..i LOVED it.the voices were perfect.it was worth the wait.

I started playing FFVII again the other day, but i think it will be difficult to get into because it is so slow.

You know whats creepy about the promotional tactics? The fact they have (and most likely buy if you had the cash) a LIFE SIZED naked FF7 Sephiroth model

................scary

Woah... life sized? Nice. But I'd prefer a life sized Tifa.

.............from the looks of it, it looks like a re-creation of the scene where we saw Sephiroth incased in Materia during the first Nothern Crater visit....

Oh. My. God. Look what I just found.
