The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a 2007 film directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story of the same name, scriptwriter Eric Roth has expanded on Fitzgerald's own story until it became "an epic 200 page script spanning 80 years in the life of an extraordinary man", according to one published report.
Various directors have been attached to the project before Fincher came on board. Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett are now attached to star, with the studios eyeing a Christmas 2007 release. This film will be the third collaboration between Fincher and Pitt. Filming began November 2006 in New Orleans, Louisiana [1] including exterior shots in the Uptown, French Quarter, and Carrollton neighborhoods.

Premise
Without warning, a 50-year-old man begins to age backwards, progressively growing younger. As he begins to regain his youth, the man starts to fall in love with a 30-year-old woman. The question thus looms: how can they have a future together if he continues to grow younger and she older with every year that passes?

First pic of Pitt.

It's Fincher.

It's GOING to be good. Well, atleast it has a pretty good chance of being good.

I'm also intrigued by the story, so yeah...I'll be checking this one out.

Sounds great, its good to see Fincher making more movies. Hes a great director. Story sounds great and something original from hollywood.

He's one of my fav directors.

I guess TCCOBB will be released in fall-winter'07.

I'm an official Fincher Fanboy. The man can do no wrong.

i don't like Cate Blanchett but i'm sure that the rest of the movie will be ok.

I like Fincher, but the premise really doesn't interest me.

It's weird how they are shooting this while their other movies are still in production

That happens alot though, what gets me is that one week they are in New Orleans, then next thing you know they are shooting in the Caribbean and now they are back in New Orleans.

Exactly, even Fincher hasn't finished work on Zodiac's editing yet

Every Fincher-Brad Pitt team up has been awesome so far.

Indeed, Se7en and Fight Club were excellent movies

I think this movie is already the main candidat for Best Movie Oscar Award 2008 :D

Seriously, if it is very strong and mysterious drama (which also is going to be released in fall-winter), it will most likely get it's award.

What's up with this project? I heard they had started post-production

I heard the release date moved to winter 2008, this sucks :down

Can't wait for this. Read the short story a while back and it was the weirdest and most original story I have ever read.

This is what they should be teaching in school, not the 'Great Gatsby'.

Fincher is one of the few amazing directors out there I will check out this movie solely based on the fact that he is directing.

sounds great, and i love fincher, so... cool.

but it sounds like the book 'the confessions of max tivoli', by andrew sean green (my favorite book) only in that book, the man is born old, and grows young, falling i love with a woman first as a father figure, then some years later as a lover, then before he dies, as her son... it's very touching. they should make a that movie, this premise just doesn't sound as good to me.
