Firewire help thread

I don't think my laptop has a firewire connection and I really want to edit.

Is there anyway round this...etc....can I buy a cable that would imitate a firewire or is there any other way.

Please help me.

I did buy one, but I'm sure where it is/ it's for a PC.

You know how easy it is to install one, I'm not for installing Hardware.

That one is for laptop should be a card slot on it somwhere will plug stright in, with pcs it will be a PCI connection which will have the pins running down the long side of it.

Like so... PCI ones arent hard to install either just have to push it and screw it in to the tower.

Shouldnt your new laptop have a firewire connection anyway? most new ones do.... have a look on the spec will either say firewire or IEEE 1394
