Is WETA currently working on any other big projects? WETA is good, but lets hope the really good people are on board for F42. I would have really loved if WETA also worked on the Thing. Thye also better be on Galactus as well.

They're both great. But not everything WETA have laid their hands on has been a home run. That stampede scene in King Kong comes to mind, ILM did a better job with similar scenes years before IMO.

They're doing The Waterhorse, James Cameron's Avatar, 30 Days of Night and until recently Halo.But i wouldn't worry about how big their workload is and besides they aren't doing all the movies effects. Some of the effects houses from the first film are back so the work is evenly split.A bit like on X-Men 3.

I just hope they have enough time to finish everything they want to do.Don't want to hear 'oh we couldn't have this great scene because we only had so and so time to do it'.

Ralph Winter said they we're working on the effects as they finished shooting. Right up to the camera we're his exact words. And they will be done filming before Christmas is also a good sign.

I would too. 6 to 12 months at least. But not happening, so we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Agreed. I think WETA's CGI model work (Gollum, Kong, etc) has been excellent, better than many of ILM's recent efforts, but their daylight 'green-screen' work (where the real actors are mixed in with those models) is where ILM still hold the title.

Ibut ILAM is still tops in the industry.

ILM hasn't been top dog in a long time.....and now that they've ditched their miniatures unit, their shame is complete.

Although their motion capture work on the new Pirates flick was quite nice.

Agreed. I think WETA's CGI model work (Gollum, Kong, etc) has been excellent, better than many of ILM's recent efforts, but their daylight 'green-screen' work (where the real actors are mixed in with those models) is where ILM still hold the title.

ILM is still the best just look at War of the Worlds and Pirates. And Jurrasic Park's effects are still great looking considering that came out in 1993. I wasn't all that impressed with the effects in Narnia but WETA is the second best visual effects company and it's good to know that there handling the effects for the Surfer.

They perfected it, they didn't made if PERFECT. Yet.

I enjoyed both Mummy Movies. I'd like to see a third.
