First Look: Max Landis' Fantastic Four Script

Max Landis is the worst. THE WORST.

He went to a party with a beard and left. He came back beardless because he thought nobody recognized him.

And he's the most obnoxious, awful person from what I've learned on Twitter. And this is all in public at cons and stuff.

:-|

Does anyone get the sense that Max Landis is promoting himself at Josh Trank's expense?

Not that I think it makes him a bad person, but he seems to be getting a lot of attention online now with a new film about to come out due to his previous association with Josh Trank.

Very much so and he comes off a huge two faced opportunist. He seemingly supported Trank in that long twitter rant while at the same time saying the movie was too much for him. Yet when Trank lost the Star Wars gig he posted "Karma". With this he's trying the - see they should have gone with my rejected treatment instead of Trank's. :oldrazz:

Can't tell if I liked Landis' FF or not. It was cool though, so I guess it served its purpose. I just wish I could read the rest.

His recent ramblings on Twitter have made him come across as quite the narcissist. I'm glad he will most likely have nothing to do with any potential MCU FF.

He didn't even write an entire script. He only wrote 50 pages of a script before he was told by Fox they were going in another direction.

He also said it was a complete coincidence he posted those pages.

Landis is just another Hollywood weirdo more interested in living "the lifestyle" and being an "artist" than doing some actual quality work.

The more crap we see from Landis and Trank, the more it becomes clear Chronicle was a fluke.

I think you pretty much nailed it.

I liked the first four pages but the ideas of his trilogy were some bulls***

I do think he's a pretentious, self important *****e. But I think Chronicle was cool although his original ideas had some flaws.

Agreed 100%.

He clearly likes seeing his name in headlines. I've heard that the internet has hated him for a while now, and I'm starting to get the gist.

Yup. I think it's a prime example of what happens when you taste too much success too quickly.

Oh wow, Landis is having a better meltdown on Twitter than Trank. This dude's calling people "nine year old ugly boy", questioning whether or not he can call people that don't like him fatties, using the ol' "you can't criticize my work unless you've done this job" routine, and saying one of his trolls is one bad relationship from beating three women to death.

We dodged a bullet when Fox turned down this nutcase's take, even as bad as Fant4stic was.

If you want more cringeworthy stuff from Landis to read, here is: http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplayl...-means-that-original-movies-are-dead-20150824

...it seems the reviews didn't even matter, the MOVIE didn't matter. The argument that can/will be made is: big level original ideas don't $

Am I wrong? Is trying to make original movies in a big way just not a valid career path anymore for anyone but Tarantino and Nolan?

That's the question: Am I wrong? Are original ideas over? I wanted to pose this to the public, because I feel, put lightly, confused.

How far up your own ass can you possibly be?

And comparing yourself to Tarantino and Nolan after one - one - well-received movie? What a ****ing assclown. I don't even care if I get banned for this.

This guy's big plan for Doom was to make him a good guy that would then go bad in the third one, New Goblin style. No, really, he actually compared it to Harry's character arc in the Spider-Man series. Y'know, because fans loved Spider-Man 3 so much.

Max Landis twitter meltdown has been amusing. What a tool.

Max Landis cannot take criticism to save his life. Gosh is his twitter feed embarrassing.

The most staggering thing to me is that none of the tweets seem even remotely ironic or self-aware, even the boast(!) about Ultra's "better reviews" than the other newly-opened movies:

...American Ultra was also beaten by the critically reviled Hitman Agent 47 and Sinister, despite being a better reviewed film than either..

Yes, it has the whopping tomatometer of 46%.

Why is Landis having a twitter meltdown over a stoner comedy starring Kristen Stewart that was released in the dead month of August? Just move on to your next project and forget about it.

I've seen posts like this repeated on Twitter and other platforms. If the comment in question is what was quoted here, then you guys need to hit the books again for reading comprehension.

His only comparison to those two was to make a career path in original IPs that (hopefully) become box office successes. He wasn't comparing his successes or credentials. Folks on the internet are so quick to jump the gun. :loco:

He needs to calm down.

It's always funny to me, in a sad way, to see people just not being able to grasp that maybe what they did was not that good.

Carnahan had a mini meltdown when his show State of Affairs was cancelled earlier this year.

Like these people just cant fathom that what they did wasn't that good. It's sad.

I have no issue with them thinking that their show/movie was good, I have no issue with them defending their shows/films but don't have a pathetic tantrum about your flop.

Thank you. Man, it's amazing how much judgment people pass based on such a small selection of information under very specific contexts. Because that's enough to form a fully informed opinion of another person, and evaluate them.
