First look of credits from the movie!!! (2 Clips!!!)

that file format is crazy...

HOW DO I OPEN IT?

can you change the format to something a bit more user freindly?

I don't think it's real. It was posted first on somebody's myspace account a number of weeks ago. If it is at all real, it's a mock-up of the final title sequence, rather than an actual clip.

has there been any real confirmation as to who is doing the opening theme?

Yeah, it was confirmed a very long time ago. It's Chris Cornell, and it's supposedly going to be very different from the sound of Bond songs from the past. It's called "You Know My Name."

Yeah, but it just sucked, period. Cornell presents a different style of music.

You should just read Cornell's own thoughts on the matter:

What Cornell didn't ignore was an offer from the producers of the forthcoming James Bond film "Casino Royale" to pen the movie's theme song. But he admits that, at first, he wasn't so sure it was a gig he wanted.

"I wasn't really sure about doing a Bond theme, because I wasn't really a big fan of the last several movies," he said. "And then I heard that there was going to be a new guy — Daniel Craig — who was going to play Bond (see
"British Actor Daniel Craig Steps Into James Bond's Tux"). And he's so different. I have seen him in several movies, and I was kind of intrigued. So I went to Prague, where they were shooting the movie, and they showed me a rough edit of it. I was just completely blown away by it, because it's unlike any Bond film ever, really. [Craig] is an actor's actor, and there's emotional content to [the movie]. He's not like the swaggering, winking sort of super-agent guy. He's like a human being in this movie, and it's going to completely readjust the way people think of the character."

And this:

The Bond track, "You Know My Name," came as a surprise to fans -- and to Cornell himself. "I just got a call," he recalls, "and at first I thought there must be some kind of mistake." But after seeing the script and studying up on the new Bond actor, Daniel Craig, Cornell decided "I'm actually the right guy for the job. Everybody I met with said the same thing -- 'This isn't anything like any other James Bond film, so we don't really want that song, either. So go do whatever you want.'"

Cornell co-wrote "You Know My Name" with longtime Bond composer David Arnold and describes it as "more uptempo and a little more aggressive than any other Bond theme has been, maybe since Paul McCartney ['Live and Let Die']. It has an orchestra, but it also has some angry sounding guitar, and it's got feedback."

*orgasm*

hope its as good as i imagine...... the opening must out-do the rest...

When someone puts this into a vid format that's actually viewable, let me know.

I thought they were trying to give me a virus... then i realized i am immuned to everything

its not worth watching.........

there both rough.......no sound....... 5sec long

Why, thank you Chris Cornell for the update. It's nice to know us woeful, lametable Roger Moore/Pierce Brosnan fans will be done away with...

Re-read what Cornell had to say.

The popular sentiment with CR/Craig fans is that you are somehow one evolutionary step below human if you enjoyed the Brosnan films. Which is definitely the position Cornell is taking in that article.

We were only lucky enough to be blessed with his musical talents on a Bond movie when the "swaggering, winking sort of super agent guy" was done away with for a "human being." And all this time I thought James Bond was a machine sent from the future to protect John Connor.

I respect his opinion. He didn't like the Pierce Brosnan films. Fine. However, what's with the holier than thou attitude. He was great in Soundgarden and Audioslave, however it seems the in thing to do among Bond fans is to revolt against the past, disown it to a certain extent, rather than embrace it and move forward.

Can't a superhero Bond and a humanized Bond co-exist and both be appreciated? I don't think that we have to choose one or the other - variety is the cornerstone of this franchise, and I can love Roger Moore and Daniel Craig at the same time, in their own ways.

What holier than thou attitude? He expresses an opinion, but never puts down anybody who holds the opposite.

I appreciate Connery just as much as I appreciate Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan. I watch DAD and Moonraker just as much as Thunderball and Goldfinger. I prefer certain movies and portrayals, but the fact is that the series as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

However, when Cornell spoke about being hesitant to create music for a Bond movie because he didn't enjoy the previous films and how he will only do it now because Bond "isn't a winking superhero," he is obviously alluding to the fact that James Bond is percieved in a certain light by certain people.I believe there is some subtext to his words.

Although, that might be just me. Anyways, I'm off to pack for college. I bid you and all fellow James Bond fans a safe, fun and long life. Until we meet again

I ask, what's the point of doing this movie or even casting a new actor to basically make everything exactly the same?

If they fail . . . well at least it will have been interesting seeing it get to the point.

You can tell those are fake - Bond doesn't use that type of gun anymore, since Tomorrow Never Dies he's used the P99.

Kevin, that's actually inaccurate. Bond does use the PPK in CASINO ROYALE, but only in a single scene.

But even so, even if the PPK was out of use in CASINO ROYALE, they still might go for the PPK in the titles. The titles don't really have to match up with the film like that. My main argument against these titles is the amazing lack of quality - they're terribly poor.

the continuity of the guns is completely shattered...... dont try and piece it back together.

i just hope he puts on the silencer for the whole movie.........silencers are sexy as hell

Bond title sequences have always taken until like the day before the movie is out, to come together. It'll be fine.
