Was anyone else disappointed to see the scene between Flash and Gwen was excluded from the film?I felt there was a lack of continuity between this film and this scene may of helped better secure the bridge between the two.
I missed the high school aspect of the movie... My favorite parts of TSSM series are when he's dealing with high school problems/drama. Makes him so much more relatable. Felt like an adult already in this movie, I miss the teenage Peter Parker.
The first movie's Flash didn't seem essential to the story like the classic Flash represented in Raimi's trilogy. Once he and Peter made their peace in TASM, it felt like Flash's involvement in this franchise might be over.
I felt the same way about the lack of continuity. It seemed like there was hardly anything there to bridge the movies together. I'm not sure if the Flash scene would have helped entirely, but it would have been a start.
This.
As a fan of the first movie, I was very dissapointed with how ASM2 seemed to almost ignore ASM1.
Especially with how they kinda raped Ben's character in ASM2. I really can't believe they cut Sheen's cameo.
For me, TASM2 didn't feel like a sequel to TASM1. Yeah, it had its callbacks, but it was completely different in every aspect.
Yeah, it doesn't have that vibe that most series of films set in the same universe do does it?
You know Iron Man and Iron Man 2 are related.
It was a complete 180 tonally, and it did differentiate it from the other film, which is sad really, because I thought the first TASM tapped into that nice homey feeling you get from spider-man films.
I can see TASM3 doing another tonal shift, it'll either get more campy (more villians) or ultra dark (Gwen sadness)
That's one of my biggest gripes with this film. It really felt that they (Webb, Sony etc.) have no clue what they want to do with this series. This series feels like one big identity crisis. They don't feel secure about their initial vision at all. It's evident in the drastic tonal shifts, the sudden inclusion (and exclusion) of certain characters, the last minute editing of scenes that seemed important etc. Before TASM1, they talked about wanting it to be more "gritty". It's almost unbelievable how TASM2 ended up with that in mind. They just follow trends. The bad idea about this is that they will always be behind, while having no own identity.
Yeah, I really like the tone of TASM1. It's not nearly as dark as some people say if you ask me, while at the same time it's not too goofy like TASM 2.
Don't give marvel any ideas. I may love the teenage Parker but I love the adult Parker more and want to see more of that. Plus Garfield is almost 31 so I prefer him in his adult life.
The said that one of the ideas why they rebooted was to go back to high school and use it to its potential, seems weird to see them leave it right in the 2nd film, they only bought time for another movie in this case.
Yeah because it worked out so well in TASM 2...
Didn't Webb say it was Andrew who said about the whole school thing, he felt he it was getting harder for him to pass as a teenager going to school
As for the idea of Peter at school... I can see why a young naive Peter feels more interesting then adult Peter
