Seems like a bill that was rushed had unintended consequences, which has happened in just about every state and even our Federal government. Lawmakers typically don't ever read a bill fully or use common sense when voting, so this is really no different.

I used to live in Florida. I have friends who live there and I visited a few years ago and would like to again in the future. I still like aspects of the state but in recent years I've come to be glad I do not live in it any longer.

everyone likes to trash Florida, but with Disney World, Miami Heat, beaches, weather, no state income tax...really...what's not like?

I went to school out of state...and I really missed the state. Pennsylvania weather and people...are no fun.

Don't tell me New York or Cali's better.

There is plenty to like but that doesn't mean the state is ideal or even close to the best place to live in.

All that stuff is superficial. Just like any state, Florida has real problems, real issues to work out. We get a lot of **** because we're an easy target and frankly, this state makes it easy.

Cali is much larger, so you don't like one area, you can always move to another.

Snakes, gators and other reptiles if you have them. FL has tends to have a lower wage.

Honestly I've been on at least ten vacations to Florida, and visiting, I liked the place. I never had many issues while there, plus alligators fascinate me. Granted I'm limited to the Disney/Orlando and Daytona areas, but I like them. Just seems like Florida is in the newsa little more often then other states.

Texas has been in the news a lot lately too for similarly unflattering reasons. And California has popped up a few times though not as much.

Because it is one of the four largest states in the nation. New York, California, Texas, and Florida are always in the news because that's where most of the people are.

It is only going to get worse because Florida is getting larger all the time. It is soon going to be passing New York in population.
