I read somewhere that Zack Snyder was originally offered the job of directing a Wolverine movie but turned it down for Watchmen, and that he would have made it R-rated

Who here agrees that this would be epically awesome, and if there is ever a reboot (which there should be), Snyder should get the job?

He's proven himself a very good action/effects director, and has a creative flair. His character developement skills have seemed to improve as well

No reboot to much time and money has been put into the FoX-men franchise

just let him do the Wolverine Sequel in japan

this is from IMDB

Zack Snyder and Bryan Singer turned down the chance to direct the film. Snyder was too busy developing Watchmen (2009), while Singer was too busy with other projects. Snyder also was interested in making the film R-rated, while Hugh Jackman and Lauren Shuler Donner wanted to settle on a PG-13 rating.

no one else agrees that this would be a dream come true?

To paraprase Simon Cowell: I don't think Zack Snyder is as good as he thinks he is.

I liked his remake of Dawn of the Dead. I hated 300. I admired that he kept Watchmen so faithful to the original comic, but I also felt the movie got bogged down in it's own self-importance and judging from people I've spoken to who hadn't read the comic, it was completely inaccessible to anyone who hadn't read it.

I like Zack Snyder, but I'm a little glad he didn't do this movie.

That's too bad, he would have made Wolverine actually worth watching.
But then again, if it was still under Fox, it still would have been neutered, just like the POS that actually got released.

Fox wouldnt let it be R rated, i think thats obvious to know, given they want to sell toys and get kids watching

300 had awesome action, stupid story. Dawn of the Dead? Meh. Watchmen...respect but not a big fan.

I'm not the biggest Snyder fan, but his style would probably be appropriate for Wolverine. It's kind of moot because they'll never make it rated R.

How can anyone hate on 300? I have about 5 blu ray movies. One of them is 300. Classic movie.

And Yes an R Rated Wolverine by Zack Snyder would be awesome. I just hope its not as "black and white with red" as sin city, 300 and The spirit.

300's characters were really not that great...I liked the action and it was visually stunning but the story was not that great and I really didn't get attached to any of the characters. it's just a movie about half-naked men bonding together...and then the leader realizes that he likes his wife in more then just a sexual way...good for him. She was my least favorite character.

As long as he keeps it the way he did Dawn Of The Dead, I'd be down with Snyder. As much as I love 300 and Watchmen, I wouldn't wanna see a straight up adaptation of a specific Wolverine comic.

i wanted him to do it because we know he would respect the material and the characters and dont blame snyder it was miller's poor writing that made 300 characters 1 dimensional.

Singer's Wolverine film would of been excellent he knows the wolverine character more than jackman does .I think hugh just liked playing a badass character who put him on the map instead of actually understanding the character.

An R-rated Wolverine will never happen, even under Marvel. Unless it was filmed R, cut to be PG-13 & released on DVD/Blu-Ray as an R movie.

Kids like Wolverine to much for an R rated movie.

An R-rated movie would be great for adult viewers...but it would deny a large part of the audience. Today, I saw loads of parents and kids at the film screening, so children/families are part of the audience.

The adult rating and adult content of Watchmen didn't help its box office and WB reportedly doesn't want any more adult-rated superhero movies as a result.

So, from a commercial standpoint, an R-rated Wolverine would not be a success and would never happen.

The opening cinematic from the Wolverine game could actually become a reality if Snyder was directing. Snyder knows how to remain faithful to the source material and is not afraid to get sadistically violent. Solid choice for Wolverine, too bad it'll never happen.

not really wolverine doesn't need to kill babies or anything he can still be likable and animalistic at the same time

It doesn't have to be R-rated, imo. If we can get a director, while at Marvel Studios to make it as dark and thrilling as possible without making it R, ala TDK, then you've got a great Wolverine movie.

Just like Tony Stark can be a rich prick, and liked; Wolverine can be an animal, and liked.

We're not going to see a reboot anytime soon..

it doesn't need a reboot they just need to do a better job for the sequel

i will keep on saying this they need to get brain singer back asap the producer said she would love for him to come back but With Prisoners and Freedom formula in development i dont see it happening

you would have preferred the current version? at the very least Snyder would have made it better than that miserable garbage-heap
