For the future...

you would have preferred the current version? at the very least Snyder would have made it better than that miserable garbage-heap

I actually preferred Wolverine over Watchmen.

I would be interested in what Zack Snyder could do with a Wolverine film. But I don't need it to happen, either. The slow-motion action shots would kill me.

You'll never see an R-rated Wolverine. Like X-Maniac, I also saw tons of kids at the screening I saw on Friday night. And thanks to the success of shows like Wolverine & The X-Men, no studio in their right mind is going to put out a film that excludes those fans.

It's funny, I know one of the gripes about the film was that the Weapon X scene wasn't gory enough. But the sight alone of Wolverine getting hit by several dozen needles at the same time had nearly half my audience hiding their eyes. I don't know what a gorier version would have done to them.

I didnt bother reading after the enlarged print.

^exactly.

This movie didn't do Wolverine justice. Or Deadpool/Wilson. Or Gambit. Or even Stryker. Only Sabretooth was decent, but even Schreiber's performance couldn't rise above the ****** plot

The fact that Snyder wanted it to be r-rated indicates that he understands Wolverine better than Gavin whatever

Zach is passionate and knows about what he is doing and he makes stylistic good films. I think Zach would have put more passion into this than Gavin did and I know Zach would have understood the characters better and after seeing the movie, I do think Zach would have done a better job.

zach gave Rorschach/comedian/Manhattan/Dan/Dan and Laurie Love Relationship all justice so yeah i would of preferred him.

As an adaptation, Watchmen took the source material and added elements that actually improved the story in some cases (Rorschach's extended screentime at the prison, the lack of squid - thank God). I wasn't thrilled with the use of slow-mo, and there were a couple scenes that came off as laughable, but I was impressed.

Wolverine basically adapts a miniseries (which wasn't even that great in the first place) and wraps it up in a layer of cliches and unintentional humor so fine that I won't be surprised if it ends up being mocked at MST3K conventions in a few years.

This isn't like The Dark Knight, where Christopher Nolan mashed up elements from The Long Halloween and Dark Victory with his own vision to create an enjoyable, serious comic book movie.

Sure, Wolverine will make bank. I'm sure of it. Doesn't mean that it's taking chances with the source material.
