The superhero genre certainly has some memorable theme tunes, but few stand up to this one. It is so perfect and so effective, so evocative, that it contributes more to the film than any of the actors. I mean, it's beautiful. It says everything about the period of wonder and invention and innocence that the movie is set in.
I'd even say that if the movie had been a success, this would be one of the most popular theme tunes around.
