Much love for Forrest Gump.

It's a great movie and Tom Hanks is my favorite actor.

Cast Away gets my vote for his best performance though.

Yeah thats a good call. It is the greatest movie of all time, it's almost perfect. Zemeckis is awesome, Hanks is sensational.

I think it can be summed up in one word... Brilliant

ONE of the greatest movies of all time...it is fantastic.

I remember seeing it for the first time in the theater. I worked there and we did an employee screening so we had no clue what we were about to see. When the end credits rolled, all I could do was just sit there. I had to soak in and process how terrific was what I had just seen.
Very few movies hit me like that, but when they do, I know it will be a lifetime favorite of mine. The only other film I can distinctly remember that same reaction was Braveheart.

"Sorry i ruin you new years eve party, lutanet Dan.She tast like cegiretts'
I love that line.I was cracking up.:woot:

Great movie, but it's been awhile since I've seen it. Movie had a great soundtrack as well.

Love this movie, one of the best Zemeckis' films after BTTF

This is my second favorite Zemeckis film after BTTF. A terriffic performance by Hanks. Gump deserved all the Oscars it won.

Forest Gump was alright..I didn't love it like the rest of the country did.Tom Hanks was great though.

A little too maudlin and contrived for me. I feel that Pulp Fiction should've gotten the Best Pic that year...

Haven't watched the movie in a couple of years but all of this talk made me pull it out and watch it.
It's such a brilliant movie. I love how it touches on so many cultural events from the late 50's on up to the late 80's. I'm a child of the 80's but I consider myself a pretty good student of all of those events of the later part of the 20th century. And he had won the award for Philidelphia the year before, but I knew this was the movie that was going to cement Tom Hanks as one of the greatest actors ever...and I think it did.
It's hard to believe it has already been 13 years since this movie was released. I'm afraid how continued time will allow it to hold up, because it was made for people of a certain generational perspective to recognize those events (the music is so awesome). Regardless, it has a solid spot in my top 10 of all time.

"Lieutenent Dan, ice creeeeeeeeeam!"
A great movie. I heard they might do a sequel base don the second book, could be as great.

^I don't know. Without Tom Hanks it would probably lose most of what made the first one good.

Whenever I see Gary Sinese on CSI New York now, I always think:

"Lt. Dan! He's got magic legs!"
