Fox News

The idea of a zombie-infested world inspires fantasies of monsters possessed by an uncontrollable rage to kill, and viewers get a thrill imagining what it would be like to participate in this new world order.
Must... kill... dismember... eat neighbors. Zombies told me to.

Even video games are overrun with zombies in this guy's mind:

We also see this zombie obsession in many videogames. Even more disturbingly, these games create environments for young children, in which they are exposed to an imaginary world where they get to play with firearms and place themselves in dangerous situations that they find exciting. And studies have shown that these videogames can sometimes condition people, especially young children, to be apathetic towards violence. That’s why they’re labeled M for Mature.
In which he contradicts himself in the same paragraph. Games can "sometimes condition people" (which is continually countered with other studies saying otherwise) and he mentions young children being exposed before stating "that's why they're labeled M for Mature."

So young children are playing games meant for mature adults. This will condition them to become zombies.

This obsession with the undead in television and other media is quite puzzling. The concept of zombies has been around for decades, and their mythology has even been studied by scientists to prove that such an outbreak can never occur. Yet, whether it be in books or film, zombie popularity has only increased after having originally been popularized by the 1960s film, “The Night of the Living Dead.”
We've had zombies for decades. It comes and goes in waves. See vampires, werewolves, ghosts, serial killer/slashers, mummies etc. This is a well known and studied phenomenon. But since we're currently in an upswing on zombies it's suddenly bad now and we're looking to imitate them?

We've also have a current, huge upswing in the popularity of super heroes. Yet he focuses on zombies. Where is the talk of how the super heroes are going to help curb the danger of zombie outbreaks?

He then goes on to tie this into the even greater threat; Socialism. Suddenly it all makes sense! Zombies = socialism.

Take from it what you will.

With this country heading towards a socialized system of government, in which officials don’t want you to think or focus on what is important for your own personal growth, I’m sure they’re more than happy to let you obsess over something as stupid as zombies.

And in turn, you ultimately become the zombie.
This guy is of course selling paranoia and I can continue to easily tear (and chew) the brains out of his little conspiracy rant here but I've got to get back to mindlessly obsessing over the next stupid thing the media will tell me is wrong with the country. :whatever:

And then John was a zombie...

For no raisin!

I love zombie movies and I have yet to have an interest in biting people or trying to devour anyone. Besides that one time...

But you can place the blame on bath salts there.

I wonder how many people tried to use actual bath salts thinking it would get them high.

Knowing some of the stoners I used to hang out with in HS, many.

But this guy is yet another reason I detest Fox news. Scratch that, they aren't even a news source anymore. I prefer information from John Stewart or Stephen Colbert as I know that they're far more likely just to tell the truth rather than being fear mongering *******s.

Stephen Colbert is not a good place for actual news either.

I know but he makes more sense in character than Fox does on its best days. He also makes me laugh instead of want to murder.

Stephen Colbert is not a good place for actual news either.
But at least he does not claim to be an actual reputable news source, unlike Faux News.

If anything, watching Fox News turns people into mindless zombies.

Colbert and Stewart actually tell people they aren't actual news reporters. Stewart got into an argument on fox news with one of the staff about that and he was telling them directly they need to stop acting like they do and actually try to be helpful. They mocked him and got cancelled. :p

Edit: My bad, it was CNN.

I thought Fox News would love the a zombie apocalypse.

They can finally shoot people legally (stand your ground laws only allow you to kill so many people).

They can finally brag about how the biblical revelations were true.

The government would fall to pieces and it would be every man for himself.

Yay for the zombie utopia.

lol ohhhhhhhhh Fox, go back to hating gays and Obama. You have no place in the nerd world

I always like to pull this little factoid out. On average each year in NYC, in the entire city, about 8 people a year report being bitten by rats. How many report being bitten by another human? ABOUT 800. So we've been dealing with flesh eaters in The Big Apple for some time now.

It's gonna be those obamacare drugs that are gonna do it. You just wait and see.

I bet 799 of those people bitten were bitten by homeless people or cab drivers

I work overnites as a concierge in SOHO, with a bar about every two blocks or so. I can tell you I have more problems with drunk yuppie scum than I have with the homeless. Take from that what you will. :word:
