This isn't some stupid girl or rant thread, it's an actual problem, and I'm curious what others think from a non-bias point of view.
I work at a Dunkin Donuts, next week is my last week and then I'm off to England to study for a semester abroad. Anyway A couple of days ago I came into work on time, and there was huge line, anyway there was a huge line, so the girl on the cash register is like "I got to go, I got to go", so I go to assign myself to the other drawer(There's only 2 cash registers), but there's some kind of wierd problem with it(I.E. the manager nevers igned himself off so I can't get on it), I'm like I can't get on the drawer... So she simply took off and told me to count the drawer for her later.
Now here of course comes the problem, if the drawer is short at the end of the night, the person assign to it has to pay for it. I already assume this would happen so I put in the book, I'm not taking responsibility for hte drawer. Now when the line cool down 2 hours later, there might of been the possibility of counting drawer and then putting myn ame on it for the rest of the night, but I figured if a customre comes, a line could form quick so I'm just not going worry about it. Anyway I and the other guy rang on the drawer all night and so I counted it for her and took care of it, however agian it's not my drawer, and I did it to the best of my abilities. So I just called for my hours, she picks up and says her drawer was short 70 dollars but it sounds like that's the combined thing of multiple nights, and not all that night, and she's like "Can you help out cuz if I don't pay it, I'm not going be put on the schedule" To give you some perspective she's my age and pregnant with her first kid(i.e. 19 years old) and doesn't come off too smary to boot...
Anyway I simply said I'll talk about it when I See her because I needed some time to think and I don't like being cornered into something. I feel bad since it's downtown providence and most of htep eople working at htis dunkin, probably need the money... However, it's not my fault... She shouldn't of left, and if she really had to go, she should of said the line will have to wait, I wouldn't of complained about it... IN the end, am I being too callous or should I this leech 30 dollars of my money?
