Fright Night remake

i hoped for a more scary movie.

and yes i agree that they used Disturbia (and the original ) as inspiration.

I think it's just nostalgia talking

No doubt thats some of it, but they were very great, funny movies in their time. I think its partly a generational thing as well, but that doesn't mean they were bad, just that most people like the movies that they grew up with.

what the hell? why does the new Peter Vincent look like Criss Angel?! :cmad:

You mean disturbia was inspired by the original, plus i am sure all of them were inspired by Hitchcock's Rear Window.....

The original isn't all that great either.

To each their own. The original not only has a strong fanbase but was extremely well received by critiques. Its actually hard to find a bad review of that movie. The Flick is alot of fun and is actually quite different from a majority of the 80s horror flicks. This remake doesnt seem to have that popcorn midnight feel the original had.

Ok, as a huge fan of the original I'll say....this ain't so bad. They DO give waaaay too much away in the trailer it seems(I hate when they do that). But this looks to be staking out(no pun intended) it's own place rather than just beat for beat copying the original. I'll check it out.

You don't hit the theatre a lot then, do you? :awesome:
Not really. I only go see movies i feel deserve my money and that i Really want to see. I'll rather risk getting potentially disappointed at home through a Red Box/Netflix rental as opposed to shedding $20+ at a theater:o....

Haha. Its "updated".

That's Exactly what i said at the end of the trailer. "Well, it's Updated:o" Definitely updated in hopes of catching a new audience that's for sure. He does look like Chris Angel a bit doesn't he:woot:....

This could be a good thing though:devil:.....

looks better than i imagined...
but then again i imagined something horrible, like Cirque Du Freak

i saw the original a while back and it was awful

Doesn't look terrible. Anton Yelchin is always amazing, and it looks to be a good role for
Colin Farrel. I thought the original was awful so we'll see how this turns out.

i f..... hate it that a lot of internet idiots are making fun of Yelchin that he is becoming bald. so f... what.

I didn't even notice? Bald? Ever since I first saw him on screen I thought that Yelchin was the up and comer to watch rather than Shia "No,No,No!" LaBeouf..LaBeef....whatever his name is. Hopefully Yelchin has a good long career.

I liked Yelchin too. He's on the cusp of being big, he just needs that one role

i hope he will make more small movies then big blockbuster movies.

I still want him as Harry in a Spider-Man sequel.

Anyone know what the song near the end of the trailer is?

While I think Yelchin is really good, I feel the same for Shia. Both have impressed me in their acting quality over the years.
