He did show it....just not in an IN YOUR FACE WAY....the scene with him watching the old videos of him and Ed show that perfectly. He DID feel bad...but the **** was he supposed to do? He couldnt have friends with Ed...he couldnt get along with people with Ed. Because they found him weird. No one likes weird kids. They make people feel to uncomfortable.

And didnt he resist killing Ed? But only did so because Ed was...well.. trying to kill him?
 
He killed Ed because he had to, but it was clear that he didn't want to. By the way, I liked this Evil Ed much more than the one in the original. Charlie was pretty good in this one, too.
 
You guys hatin on the old Evil Ed are crazy. He was awesome. McLovin didn't hold a candle. :word:
 
The original Evil Ed was definitely better pre-vamp. I thought McLovin held his own with the original Ed after they both vamped out. I found both guys hilarious.
 
Evil Ed was pretty annoying in the old series, this one actually had me chuckling. He was also better in his vampire form than the original. And I disagree with the people saying that this version of Jerry wasn't charming. He was charming, just not in a gentlemanly way like the original Jerry was. This one had enough charm to lie to the cops and even get them to leave with smiles on their faces.
 
The old Jerry was just a smoove MF'r. I liked Farrell's take on it though. More animalistic and.....

Lol, I see what you did there. Yeah, Farrell was an absolute beast in this. Got pretty disgusting at times, like when they ran over his arm and he painfully snapped it back into place. One of the scenes I love is the first time Charlie sees Jerry feeding on that woman, how she held her finger to her lips so Jerry wouldn't make a sound... It was pretty sad to watch. Something about this one that I didn't like as much as I did in the original was Amy's transformation. In the original she got way more sexier in her vampire form; so sexy that she was obviously lethal and seemed like a completely different person. She was even smart enough to manipulate Charlie's emotions so that he would lower his cross and approach her. In this one, she was a little bit sexier and just not as threatening as the first imo. At least she still had that mouth.

Colin's Jerry reminded me of a vampire version of The Terminator, and I actually liked his approach to the role. He kept true to his Chris did it but freshened it up at the same time and didn't just do a cut and paste job.

Indeed. Evil Ed in the original is very memorable...because it is Evil Ed. His geeky laugh, his anger, his pathetic misery and then when he cries as he dies...it's this pitiable loser who becomes a vampire and still loses.

I like McLovin in Superbad and Role Models and loved him in Kick-Ass. But in Fright Night, he was just kind of McLovin with fangs. My opinion, of course.

Very good point. Amanda Bearse did get a lot sexier when after she was turned. Poots was already sexier, so the transformation really didn't do much to amp up her already evident sex appeal.
 
They did a good job making Amanda Bearse sexual after she gets bit because before then I didn't find her remotely attractive.

Imogen Poots on the other hand is one of the most attractive actresses working today. When she pulls up to the house with her friends I thought "Way to go Charlie!"

Also I decided to watch some of the original today and noticed they used a Jaws type theme after Charlie and the cop see the house , lol.
 
It's going to be in trouble this weekend up against another horror film with Katie Holmes. Maybe it will do better on DVD.
 
At the end, am I the only one who thought....

that the new next door neighbor was going to be Chris Sarandon? The mom talks about selling the house, and Chris probably turned after getting left by the car.

That probably would've been too obvious to Charlie's mom though. Didn't she see the confrontation that Chris' character had with Jerry?

That would be the shock ending, kind of like Evil Ed's eyes at the end of the original.
 
Liked Jerry better in the original, Ed better in the remake. (the guy that played the original Evil Ed is a terrible actor...terrible)
 
Evil Ed sucked in the remake. I dont blame it on the actor hes just a wasted character. His death scene in the original says more about Vincent and Ed then most the scenes in the remake ...and theres no dialogue....and its creepy as ****. Ed in the remake was just a goofball with no screentime.
