OMG, the nascent visions I had as a 12 year old are coming true.

Well this certainly looks as terrible as I was expecting it to.

Probably why NBC cancelled their Coach sequel series after the pilot was shot.

I went down the rabbit hole of the TGIF crossover universe and I've ended up at The Hughleys and The Parkers.

Shared Universe
Through spinoffs and crossovers all these shows lead back to Perfect Strangers.

Perfect Strangers
Family Matters
Full House
Fuller House
Step by Step
Hangin' With Mr. Cooper
Boy Meets World
Girl Meets World
Sabrina The Teenage Witch
Teen Angel
You Wish
Clueless
Moesha
Girlfriends
The Parkers
The Hughleys

The Sabrina character is probably getting a reboot because Riverdale might be using her.

I mean, it looks like Full House. I'm not sure what some people had in mind when this was announced. I know some have been open about expecting it to look horrible and all, but some seem surprised maybe? I'm sure it'll hit for the demographic, though, however small or big that's going to be.

I don't know. Even if I was a fan of the show, I think there'd still be a certain stink there. The whole trailer seemed to rely on old catchphrases rather than moving the show forward.

It'd be like if Netflix decided to do new episodes of Friends and the whole trailer was "Could this be anymore 2016?", and Joey's geriatric ass saying "How you doin'?" to a girl less than half his age, and Emma saying "We were on a break!" to her parents, for some reason.

Girl Meets World was the perfect template for Fuller House. GMW had new characters, but yet also brought back older characters from BMW, with Corey and Topanga and appearances from the Parents, Josh, Shawn, Feeney, Angela, Minkus and Mr. Turner.

BTW, has Morgan appeared on Girl Meets World yet?

But do a lot of fans really want the show to "move forward?" I don't know if they do or not. I feel a lot of hardcore fans of things generally just want the same stuff recycled over with just a fresh coat of paint to feel new.

Of course, I don't know how many "hardcore" Full House fans there really are. I mean, it still gets played and I'm sure there's plenty of '90s kids who watch it for nostalgia, but I'm not sure it's really got that type of fanbase.

I only know of a few people who were truly fans of the show as opposed to casual viewers so I can't say what they would want either but I suspect there is no consensus on how to move forward.

For instance, the X-Files miniseries we got has been successful and I would love to see it revived with Miller and Einstein taking the leads (with Mulder and Scully recurring) but I know a lot of fans feel it should only be Mulder and Scully if they continue. Still others hated the revival and don't want to see it go on anymore.

With the Fuller House series they don't even have the older leads in it for more than a few episodes. It's mostly going to be what DJ, Steph, Kimmie and their offspring?

Danny, Jesse, Joey, Rebecca, etc are just in for two or maybe three episodes. And no Michelle because the Olsen twins aren't coming back.

There are definitely going to be fans happy with just the handful coming back but how many want to watch a Full House sequel series without them in it? I'll probably give the first few episodes a watch but I have no attachment to the characters.

I think Girl Meets World works because it has a much stronger original series it's pulling from anyway. Plus, you have a different setting, new lead characters, and a nice balance of elements to appeal to 90s kids and Disney Channel's target audience. Fuller House was always going to have issues because their characters didn't have much going on outside of one liners.

Boy Meets World evolved over the years. It started out pretty smart, but slowly over time became insanely meta.

Very satirical and self aware.

Oh, I don't really remember Boy Meets World being like, but it has been years since I watched any of it.

Eric devolved into a cartoon character and it seems like they're continuing that.

Most sitcoms from the hits to rookie shows needing a ratings boost had a crossover until the genre crashed in the mid-2000s. Just the way things have gone, CBS, NBC and ABC have had zero crossovers with their own lineups.

They've been very rare in the past 10 years, the Fox animated shows being the most active. Crossovers in dramas still happen but its been 10 years since Detective Munch appeared on Arrested Development. The Office UK did crossover twice with The Office US. Two and a Half Men had a crossover with Dharma and Greg. How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family or The Big Bang Theory haven't had any crossovers despite being the most popular shows of the past 10 years.

Besides the catchphrases I wonder if we will see any crossovers in the future with Fuller House. They could bring back any old TV star from the 80s or 90s or bring on a current TV character.

Most of you are hating on this and yet you keep the thread active!? I haven't read through much of the thread in a few weeks but I'm just wondering why you all keep posting about it and relatable things when you are just going shot it down.

Last time I posted, everyone was so harshly negative and I said that I would probably give a chance by at least watching the first and last episode. I moved on and assumed this thread would just kinda fade away but it's been highly active since then. So is there a new trailer or something that some of you liked?

I also seem to be in the small minority that was a fan of the original show.

The most successful crossover in recent years has been the Chicago Trilogy on NBC (Chicago PD, Chicago Fire and Chicago Med). Characters from one show appear on the other two shows very easily and in fact two of the characters are siblings and two others are dating each other.

The Flash and Arrow have done nicely in crossovers and probably will continue to do so across the DC television universe. Not quite the same thing though.
