What the hell happened to these games? I loved the Wipeout series especially Wipeout XL, and the XBOX Extreme G game was awesome. I miss these racers and I would play them for hours. Just think how wild they could get with the tracks and environments on the next-gen systems.

Any news on any of these games for the 360??? F-Zero is probably the least exciting franchise of the bunch. Hopefully they'll make a cool Speed Racer game to go along with the film next year.

Wipeout is being developed for the PS3. That is a Sony franchise and is exclusive to that system and the PSP. Theres a thread for it in htat forum

F Zero is a Nintendo franchise so its never going to hit the 360. Better get a Wii for that one if they decide to resurrect it

^ Really? I don't want to buy a damn PS3 but if the game is good I probably will. I liked Extreme G's tracks alot better because they were faster and more insane but wipeout had the smoother racing and the great music. :)

Sony aquired Psygnosis, who develops the Wipeout series back in 1999 and its now called Sony Studio Liverpool. Heres a link from last year revealing that the game is in development

Im guessing we might find out more at E3

What ever happened to Jet Moto.
I used to love playing that when I first got my Playstation.

The last JM game was released in 1999. Dont know why Icognito hasnt developed another one. They are currently working on Warhawk, but that would be a good franchise for Sony to bring back

What happened to that hover racer that was coming to the PS3 and 360? That's still around somewhere isn't it? Had a bit of a star wars race scene feel to it. Not strictly a futuristic racer in the same was as Wipeout et al but a similar feel at least.

I was thinking Fatal Intertia, which just resurfaced over at IGN. Still looks a bit crap.

I miss Extreme G. Too bad Acclaim fell through.

Anyone ever play Star Wars Episode 1 Racer? I loved that game
