What type of action do you want to see from Wonder Woman. What type of moves do you want her pull off and perform in this movie. It's all most impossible to deny that she'll be doing some action scene in this movie. We know that she's not only train inorder to put on some mass but she's doing all sorts of Martial arts training also.

Interviewer: So you’re not going to gain a little weight and start eating carbs before filming begins?

Gal Gadot: It’s the physical preparations that I’m starting now. A very serious training regime – Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian…1,000 and 1 things…I’ll gain body mass.

Hearing about that gets me excited. If Wonder Woman does have action sequences in this movie I hope they turn out like this.

Dead Fantasy 03
action starts at 1:35

As far as close range hand to hand combat goes, I want to do her do something like a mix of Taekwondo, Kickboxing, and Krav Maga.

When ever some one grapples her, I'm hoping we see Wonder Woman pull of some complex luchadoreish type moves. I want to see things like body slams and Head scissor take downs. I don't mean she should do exactly whats in these gifs but when ever her opponents grapple her, it should feel like she's using their momentum against them. She should reverse there attacks and seamlessly and fluidly turn it into her own counter attacks.

I think the various DCU DTVs are a very good starting point. The WONDER WOMAN and CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS ones especially as well as the Apokalips and Doomsday army sections inthe SUPERMAN/BATMAN APOCALYPSE DTV. Even evil WW in the FLASHPOINT DTV is really impressive power and skill wise.

I think that we have to understand that some of this is also going to depend on what level of strength, speed and physical toughness it's decided she'll have in the film. The pure equal of Superman from MOS? More like MCU's Thor? This is a distinction that should be drawn early.

For myself, I would like a very quick and dynamic style that has bonebreaking level (but generally non lethal) finishing moves. Of course I want the lasso to be a big part of it all. It's more than a rope people. It is invulnerable and unbreakable. From using it like a whip to tying it around an arm for a makeshift gauntlet, it can be a versatile peice of equipment.

As KRYPTON INC said. Her fights in from animated films are generally very good. I agree that in Wonder Woman and Crisis on Two Earth she was the best.

As for the film... I want to see her as an unmatched fighter. Kinda like Faora vs the military.

A reference that I have is Wesker from Resident Evil 5:

They way he is blocking every attack, has extremely fast counters, is doing something and in a instant is doing something else, the power of the strikes... that's the feeling I want from Wondie. She just has to be an absolute beast.

Seriously, I don't wanna see WW do some Krav Maga, Kung Fu, MMA s**t

What would be perfect for WW would be a style like Achilles in Troy. Regardless of what you think of that film today, Achilles fighting was a highlight of the film.

Awesome style, with the jumping and sword thrusting in mid air. That combined with some wrestling grapples maybe.

Bingo....she's gotta fight like a warrior

Uh... What?

I don't wanna see Wonder Woman do Kung Fu. She needs to fight like someone who has learned fighting by...well... fighting. And training with her sisters. It needs to be unrecognizable as something we know and see everyday.

Achilles came closest, using weaponry and shields for both offense and defense. They should come up with something similar where she uses her lasso, sword and bracelets to fight and defend.

I don't want to see that either. I want her to have a style that looks like it is influenced by Ancient Greece, and not something more modern, or something from the East. Hopefully they will combine elements from the various things she's learning, so that it isn't instantly recognisable. It certainly can't be anything that looks too fancy from any style of Kung Fu. I also don't want to see any MMA kicks. Make it look more like she uses it for fighting, and not as a sport.

As a person that has studied martial arts, with specific attention to weapons, I can tell you that Pitt did nothing spectacularly different from many other choreographed on screen fights. By the way, my style was not Chinese so I am not taking offense or anything. Just saying, fighting is fighting is fighting. Using weapons and shields for offense and defense is, well. the point of using weapons and shields in combat.

I'd leave the bonebreaking attacks to Batman.

I haven't seen this style much to my knowledge...how about something that Savate and Eskrima?

Escrima/Filipino Martial arts is a great way to train almost anyone to handle bladed or impact weapons and look good on screen. Savate Boxe Francaise techniques would be great only for pin point toe kicks, other wise on screen it looks like most styles of kick boxing.

No I get that, and I don't mean to put down a whole bunch of martial arts.

I just think it would work for WW if her fighting style looks like the style of someone who has learned to fight because she has had to fight and tackle lions and such.

Instead of someone who is proficient at a lot of martial arts.

I don't know exactly what style Pitt used but in the film it looked like something signature to Achilles, something Achilles came up with himself and over the years has tweaked and altered for maximum effect. Cutting away that which is unnecessary and making every strike with the intent to kill.

I wouldn't like to to see long sessions of blocking and dodging and backflips. If you miss you're dead and she's on to the next fellow.

Maybe some inspiration from the way Cassandra and Sophitia fight in the Soul Calibur games, with a sword and shield. Not exactly like them, but some inspiration from the way they fight.
