It's a wallpaper that's only available as a theme on Xbox 360 Live. I have it, and COULD get the big version as it deserves, but anyone with a 360 knows that you can't get rid of all the damn menus in the way

They just released the Gold Edition with Magneto, Doom, Venom, Hulk, Hawkeye etc. playable so we probably won't hear of a MUA2 til the end of this year or so. Actually, Dr. Doom was the main villain in MUA. Truthfully, I'd want Thanos to be the main villain of the second game THEN Galactus in the third.

Things like that encyclopedia and the MU Handbook don't represent canon. That's the very reason they're constantly updated. It's also why Marvel started using terms like "Known Powers And Abilities".

Anyway, the decscription is inaccurate in regards to Galactus being a memeber of any race viewing him. There aren't too many 28 ft. humans.

It doesn't say he's a member of any race viewing him. It clearly says "Appears to be a member of any race viewing him." And of course he's going to appear as a gigantic version of their race, he's freaking Galactus!

It feels like people are desperate to exonerate Tim Story and Tom Rothman.

I think that we are even having this "debate" over it is proof of how bad of job it was.

A debate implies that some people hate it and some like it.

Personally, I was vehemently against it before seeing the movie. Upon seeing it, I was like "I totally get it now. It works." Honestly, in the context of the movie, I have no idea how they could've made him anything else. There's just no time for anyone in the movie to deal with any new and shocking developments like "giant man," so instead they get it in a context they can comprehend because their attentions are elsewhere for that entire segment of the film. So I can't blame them for that decision. Maybe they could've rewritten the movie, made it longer and done a real Galactus. I realize that would've taken the focus WAY off of the Silver Surfer, though. So again, probably for the best that they didn't.

WHO IS DEFENDING IT? we're saying that he's vaguely and obscurely in the clouds and that they did a ****ing ****ty job of portraying him. jesus.

That's not what "we're" saying.

I just saw it again with the now-banned screencap in my memory and the difference was starling. If they had just held that image there for another one or two seconds, there would be no debate as to whether traditional Galactus was shown to be at the heart of the devoring storm.

Just saw it a 3rd time and it held together even better for me this time.

Story has reportedly said that it was never their intention to reveal Galactus in full in this movie.
Apparently the decision to hold back on that, to save Big G for the Silver Surfer movie was made higher up the Fox chain of command.

If that's true, I think the (now-banned) "fire Galactus" was perfect.
It's unquestionably a fiery silhouette of Kirby's Galactus.
(the background in this one-second shot is dark, but Galactus' form is bright and fiery and stands out plain as day when you know what to look for.)

I think Jack Kirby himself would be fine with it. and probably looking forward to seeing more of Galactus in the Surfer film.
And that astonishing shot of the Galactus Vortex dwarfing the Earth?
I think Jack would have dug that, too.
Too bad we can't ask him.
Maybe John Morrow, Mark Evanier or someone else who was close to Jack Kirby has a more educated opinion than mine?

Damn, I have to admit...that is one hell of a pic!!! Although I was okay with the storm cloud, I would really have loved if 'this' Galactus came out of it. Maybe in the extended cut or a solo Silver Surfer movie!!!
