Why? How come on every Marvel/Fox movie we(comic fans) have to worry on what "element" FOX will either change or eliminate from the story? From black leather suits:xmen: , Elektra love scenes and fights in the park:daredevil , to a Johnny Storm with flaming fingers and a cosmic ray powered doom:ff: .
On FF2 if they're doing Galactus PLEASE, PLEASE DO IT RIGHT! I want a Watcher, a GIANT Watcher, a cosmic SS, and lastly Galactus done like well, GALACTUS!!!
If FOX won't or can't then please pick another story. I have waited and dreamed for decades to see these stories on the Big Screen because they are great and dear to me. If the 80's brought us a giant StayPuff Marshmellow man, 2007 can bring us a credible Galactus in character. Make Mine Marvel!

Edited for spelling ;)

I feel your pain!

I understand that Fox cant be expected to include every aspect of a comicbook storyline that has been around for 40 plus years....Doom, for example, just has way too much of a back story to include everything (unless he had been given his own movie, which would have been pretty cool too)...

What grabs MY butt is how he was COMPLETELY changed from the source material! So yes, one cant help but wonder what short cuts Fox will take in regards to the next installment.

I hope they do Galactus right also. What is done is done on Doom, and hopefully they can improve what they did to him. I am hoping Galactus is Galactus. He is a central character in all things cosmic, and I'd hate to see a shell of greatness, since it would cheapen the cosmic world. I am reserving judgement on Galactus until I hear more though.

Also, FOX is not the only company that deviates from the comics. You wouldn't know it by how popular FOX bashing on this site is.

That's a good point. Look at all the changes Sony has made on Spider-Man.

However, despite a few changes, Sony STILL manages to present the soul of the characters (Peter, MJ, Osborn, Ock) pretty faithfully imo (again, within the confines of a two hour film)...Fox completely butchered Doom, so i think there's a definite concern with what Fox might do with Galactus and the Surfer..

I am not disagreeing with being concerned with what FOX may do with SS and Galactus. Heck, I am very concerned about what they may do to them, as huge fans of those characters and not really appreciating the Doom we got. I am just saying that everyone on this site seems to point out FOX for changing things, when all the companies have done it. I think it to be hypocritcal to continually bash one company for deviating when they all have.

Fox is making the FF movies. This is an FF discussion board. Why would anyone be talking about other companies?

See the first post. He says with FOX we have to constantly worry about what they will change. I am saying that is universal accross the board.

That's because Fox is notoriously known for making bad choices. :)
Too many exec. input. Not enough artistic freedom.

Although sometimes too much artistic freedom can be bad.....:hulk:

But it's more likely good......:spidey: :batman:

Thank you!!
that's what im saying.

This is what i think X3 failed to capture.

F4 had it but it felt slightly forced at times IMO. i hope this time around they capture it alot more and better.

I am not defending all of FOX's decisions, I am defending the fact that they are not the only company that changes things. Make fun of their decisions because they are not good in general, not because they are deviations unless you are against all deviations (which is fine, your opinion).

That said, I am reserving judgement on Galactus and the Silver Surfer until I hear more about them.

im not judging Galactus or SS based on the whole FOX issue.

No they arn't the only company that makes changes but it's been seen numerous times that their changes are more likely flawed. I don't mind deviations but as long as they are for the best.

I agree that FOX has made bad decisions, and people can/should gripe about them. I am only saying that we shouldn't act like they are the only people changing it up just because they screw up more. All I am saying.

The army casting in the other thread makes me feel, we may well see the US air force, the F4 and SS vs Gah Lak Tus

Fox are a company that chose PW Anderson to make AVP instead of an Alien movie written by Cameron and directed by Ridley Scott, they also turned down Fincher for DD,my faith in them making good desicions is slim at best

i feel your pain. everything i represnt in these boards from name to signature represents why i lose faith in FOX.

Actually...I think it's every comic fan has to worry about what every studio is going to change about every movie adaptation that is announced.

That is exactly what I have been saying. Great minds think a like.

Fantastic Four and The Silver Surfer comes too early, I would have liked a Silver Surfer origin movie first, and then a crossover event. And it wouldn't bother me so much if the first Fantastic Four movie had been a real good solid actors movie rather than the cheap B-Class TV level show it really was; Fox is raising the barn roof before the foundations and the walls are even up

The way things are going on at Fox these days Marvel should take back all their properties and start over themselves, unless there's an other studio and director they can trust not to botch everything up again

Personally before I see an other Fantastic Four movie again, I'm going to have to see major directing and cast changes, and a lot of reassurance from all sides that The Fantastic Four will finally be taken seriously; just using the same direction and cast of the 2005 movie is just going to drag in the mod and ruin what could be a great individual Silver Surfer franchise

An In My Opinion, might be nice..... :)

... I dont want to see a giant of a man in bright purple with a blender on his head.

There may have to be SOME changes. Okay, a LOT of changes to Galactus.

How do the Fantastic Four even stand a chance against Galactus?

with all due respect its sell out like you that ruin these movies and allow Hollywood to mess up these great characters.
why do you even read the books in the first place if they are about people with "blenders on their heads"?

I agree that his look needs to be changed, but I think they need to keep him as a giant. I mean, he devours planets. It just makes more sense that someone who devours planets would be huge as opposed to human size (please don't bring up the alien horde). Someone of his nature and power needs to be large. The purple costume can go, however.

I've thought about this and if he appears in the second movie, he really shouldn't be visible to you and eye other than his ship, hints, shadows, and bits.

He should be such a cosmic being, that we don't really get a good look at him but his actions should be explained through his herald(s).

But his power should should be quite evident.
