He's a GOD that eats PLANETS. Why does it matter if he wears a kilt? It's more like a tunic, anyway.

i care! I mean, let's face it, if you see a huge giant with a kilt on approaching the planet, the first thing your going to think is "hehem he has a kilt on"lol

Of course, I'm all for keeping him as close to Jack's version as possible.

Sure the tones of the colors could go darker, some deep purples and dark maroons would work [ it's maroon, not pink ], but I would hate for him to be just black. And DO NOT change the helmet, etc., that is all part of what makes him look so great.

And on a side note, what does this "616 version" of Marvel refer to. I know it's the original versions, but why 616? I have been collecting Marvel for over 40 years [since Spider-Man #6] and this is the first I am hear of this!

modernised 616, but black with purple highlights

UA Galactus is a no-brainer.

If Galactus winds up being a swarm of ID4, Matrix Sentinel wannabes, I'm going to have a major seizure.

I don't want galactus to have a specific look, I want each character to have him look like their worst nightmare or at least like a replica of them or somthing...

mirror image or whatnot.

I think a modernized version of his suit would be the way to go. Whether it be purple, black, silver, etc. As long as he is more like the classic version of Galactus, as opposed to that crapfest they fed us in UE.

If the guy with the kilt is several hundred feet tall, that would definately not be my first thought. However, I don't care if he has one in the movie either. I just want to see Galactus on screen, not Gah Lak Tus.

That is so embarrassing, to think "modern" must = "Black and Silver". :o
Thanks a lot, Matrix.

Yeah, people act like a good shade of purple can't be made. He must be black. I don't see it, but making him black and silver would bug me far less than seeing the other thing we have the Matrix to thank for.

No, it isn't. It's no more ridiculous than anything seen in Star Wars.

I think it's because all the story take place on Earth numer 616?

This is all you need to do.

I like that because it doesn't look like antlers coming out of his head....it looks like the extensions are from his body....I wouldn't mind that AT ALL....LOOKS QUITE COOL ACTUALLY....

Marvel: ULTIMATE ALLIANCE has the , i mean THE best rendition of Galactus ever.

they should use THAT one.

I'd like to quote or paraphrase John Byrne in an interview he did in Back Issue magazine this past summer. He said, "why can't they do it the way it was originally done in the comic book?" He goes on to say that producers in Hollywood say it can't be done on screen that way. His last sentence on the word is, "Have they tried to do it?" "How do they know it can't be done?" I tend to agree and would like to see Galactus true to the Kirby vision. If we want to get down to it, I'd love to see an entire FF movie done in the Kirby vision and style. I'd like to see it done in a really non specific era retro way the Incredibles was done. And I'd still love to see Ben Grim with the heavy brow and blip of a nose but I diverge from the subject of this thread.

That's how I've always envisioned the FF--the adventurous, stylish-scifi/fantasy of the Incredibles was spot on.

I have a feeling that for all the discussion about the look of Galactus, he really won't be in the film the way we're hoping. Based on what we've been told we'll either hear him or the characters will feel his presence or something. Money will no doubt get the last say as to what form Galactus will be in. I'd be shocked if we got the 616 Galactus in all his glory--stunned!

Have to admit that video game version posted above is pretty cool. I too doubt we'd even get that. I will remain positive and hold out hope however.

I'm torn. I think a modernized 616 Galactus could work (darker purple, etc.) But it would be very easy to make it look really dumb. On the other hand, Ga Lak Tus was just kinda stupid. I guess the former option, done with care, would be best.

Classic 616 for me.

(If it ain't broken, why fix it? :oldrazz: :cwink: )

i have to disagree completely with the PURIST here... it was totally broke! Fixing is totally called for! Next lets see CLASSIC Thanos?????

I know i am preaching to a crowd that doesnt want to hear it... but ULTIMATE gah lak tus is way cooler than a huge purple suited freak that is bigger than the earth!!! An ant can not attack a god...nor can the FF defeat a purple prince that could eat earth!

the idea of the mass suicides and the COLLECTIVE species is as good as this failure of a character will ever get!

Your Opinion is duly noted

Yes, the character is SUCH a failure that no one would ever even THINK about making a movie with him in it, 42 YEARS after his inception.

Oh, wait.....:whatever:
