I love this movie. I think it was because it completely surprised me. I thought it was going to be awful, but really shocked me at how good it was and I loved the humor in it.

my dad and i would always watch star trek. and we loooved this movie.

especially crewman #5. it was just so perfect.

besides how can you not love anythign with alan rickman? the guy is a genius.

f***in great. memorable characters all over the place, great performances, pretty smart script in a pretty smart homage to Star Trek, and just good plain fun.

My family and I like it quite a bit as well - we own it on DVD and everything. Liking (or at least knowing something about) Star Trek and having a good sense of humor really enhances your appreciation of it, that's for sure.

. . . I guess, but I've never seen an episode of any Star Trek series, or a movie, and I still love Galaxy Quest. I think it's broad enough to appeal to those who don't even have much sci-fi knowledge.

Well, what I meant was that it ENHANCES it, not dictates it. If you love it as is, you would love it even more so had you been decently acquainted with Star Trek stuff.

I thought Sigourney Weaver was cool in it. But she's cool in anything.

Sigoruney Weaver is the coolest actress in existince, with Michelle Pfieffer right behind her (perhaps a tie).

I love the movie, though. It's great seeing Sigourney send up Ripley, and it's the only time other than the Toy Story movies and The Santa Clause that Tim Allen's not been annoying.
