I always though that was Gambit. They cut him for something.

I can't understand how they use him, or that actor, and then cutted him. But if he really was Gambit, I'm happy with it. Don't like that look at all, I mean, he looks good, but not exactly like I see Gambit, definetly hasn't the comic look. And is a bit young, no? at least younger than expected.

No....not gambit... (I'm not saying they didn't cast him as gambit...but that guy is a disgrace to gambit's character.) He’s supposed to be hot and manly....that guy looks like a friggin' goth. Really...the only thing about him that even closely resembles gambit is his trench-coat...other than that his hair is the wrong color and he looks sickly looking...nothing like gambit.

Friggin' Singer and Ratner totally ruined X-men...Hugh Jackman was the only good thing that came out of the movies....I prefer the comics and the cartoon at least there Gambit is given his time in the spotlight.

I think, more than anything, it was due to be a half hearted easter egg for Gambit fans... and they realized it was a terrible idea. So they cut it.

Because that guy is definitely emo-Gambit.

Uhhh... I guess. I'd say having Patrick Stewart bring Professor Xavier to life was pretty damn cool and more accurate than Hugh Jackman's all-consuming Wolverine, among other things.

Maybe he considers Stewart negated since Xavier died/switched boides?

I don't know.

Ian McKellen was Magneto incarnate.

Yep, I pretty much agree... and if those two had not been properly cast, then the entire point of the X-Men would have really been screwed. If the two main people whose opposing philosophies represent everything the X-Men stand for aren't believable, then the rest of it is almost meaningless. I'm just thankful neither of them received the Dr. Doom treatment...

Good luck to the actors who have to replace McKellen and Stewart in the future.

I agree that Stewart portrayed Xavier's character to a T....but I also think that Jackman was awesome as wolverine...I agree that at times he had far to much screen time, not allowing the other characters to develop.

Not very Gambit like, but he's hot.

Zak said it was never Gambit...if Simon said it, I probably wouldn't have believed. But I don't think that guy was ever intended to be him, just an extra.

Well that guy has to be someone. They wouldn't just throw anyone with The Brotherhood while Magneto was giving his speech. I'm pretty sure they had a certain mutant in mind when they placed him there.

Why not? There were hundreds of mutants traveling with Magneto at that point, joining his cause. They couldn't have assigned an actual Marvel mutant to every single extra.

Oh yeah. That is definitely Avalanche. I knew he looked like somebody else, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Thanks, Spider-Fan. :)

If that was supposed to be a gambit cameo i'd be pretty disappointed, he's kind of a lame version unless the characters taken an emo turn.

We haven't heard any official word on who that character is and I doubt we ever will. I really don't care.

I don't understand why no one has managed to find out why he was there for a blink-and-you'll-miss-him moment. The director would have told the guy to go stand with them at one point, and those particular mutants were all important to Magneto, so the random guy must have had a purpose at some stage.

Spider-Fan's right. He's not as important a character as Gambit. That's Avalanche, standing with the Brotherhood because... well... Avalanche is a member of the Brotherhood. :oldrazz:

But why was he put there for that brief second, then removed?

Avalanche would have been good at Alcatraz- standing on the bridge and shaking the prison up in the moments after Arclight does her shock waves.
