I've played my favorite games way, wayyy too much, and I'm curious if that makes me unique or not.
Resident Evil 4- 14x
God of War- 13x
Spider-Man (PS1)- 8x
God of War II- 6x
Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots- 4x
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence- 3x
There are also games that I'll most likely play a 2nd time eventually, but they took such a time investment, that I just haven't gone back for another helping yet.
GTA Vice City- 30+ hours
GTA San Andreas- 90-100 hours
GTAIV- can't remember, between 70 and 100 I guess
Bully- 30-50 hours
Finally, there is a game that I am playing thru for the 2nd time, where the main villain should really find a job at Barnum and Bailey'st:, and since halfway thru I've been forcing myself to finish, when I'd rather play GTAIV, Dead Space, or Bayonetta (which I've owned for several months now, but haven't touched). I didn't think I'd ever have these feelings with a game I loved the first time thru, and haven't played since early January (I try not to play games right after I first beat it, I've only broken this rule with the GOW series)
The challenges, especially the stealth ones, are addictive and keep me coming back, but since I've recently played MGSIV and GOWIII, both the combat and the stealth sequences just seem too bare bones. The stealth gameplay isn't that n00b friendly, but the gargoyles and x-ray vision make it too easy (I do know they're optional, no need to flame). I don't use the x-ray vision anymore though, which makes the game more skill based. Still can't handle Batman leaping 30 ft to kick and enemy across the room, just in the name of fluidity. It breaks the immersion to see Batman imitate a homing missile so consistently. I hope they take that out, but since it wasn't really criticized in the media or by fans, I don't think it will be dealt with. It sucks that Batman has no range with his punches and kicks, hopefully combat depth is at least addressed (that was somewhat criticized iirc), I want a grapple button, not have to wait for a combo string divisible by 5 or 8.
/rant
P.S. Sorry for making this seem like another Batman thread. Just think of it like a question of what game didn't seem as fun the 2nd time because of risen standards?
