Gantz is one of my favorite animes. The way it's so violent but the violence isn't unnecessary like other animes. And the second season has some of the most unexpected twists.

Funny thing is I just finished watching the anime again the other day, I love how Gantz loves to f**k with Kurono's head, especially when he made [BLACKOUT]him the next alien to kill[/BLACKOUT], I still laugh at all the little quirks Gantz has particularly when it's time to announce the new target.

I've been reading the scanlations of the manga. I'm up to chapter 274 and I'm enjoying it so far. You never know who's gonna die.

I tried watching the anime..it's a little more drawn out than the manga which irritates me a little. I have the same issue with Naruto and DBZ. Sometimes there's pauses where characters just star at each other wasting time.

I disagree. After rewatching Seasons 1-3 on DVD, I'll say DBZ occasionally does that, however Shipuuden takes the cake with dialogueless filler.

IMO the anime is better, I have not read the whole manga but from what I have the anime seems to flow a little better and it doesn't have that rediculious "back from the dead" plot device in it.

I have to agree with that. Anime would skip on some of the things from the manga, although I like the opening of Gantz anime.

I never finished Gantz manga, and I must say that the concept is quite outrageous and sometimes it doesn't properly explain how some can die and some will not. And one of my fave characters died during the middle of the series, and I still don't really like the protagonist very much. While it's cool that no one is really safe the story itself isn't strong enough to withstand the absence of certain characters. So I'm rather torn about Gantz and whether I really like it or not.

wtf I just got back from Barnes and Noble and Books-a-million and neither of them had Vol.1. Just checked amazon and it said it was moved back to July 2! Anyone have any luck finding it?

So the point is to show an unnecessary amount of blood. Its not like its helping the story out. Only a little kid or an immature geeky that gets their kicks out of watching hentai would say that.

No. Only someone who watches and knows what the show's about would say that. You clearly don't.
Case and point. Why do people watch slasher films? Why do people watch porn? Why does the movie Wanted have so many good reviews despite it's shakey story? Why is Hellsing such a loved manga despite only being a gorey blood bath of Alucard wtf owning crap? Sometimes mindless sex, action, and violence is what the people want. Not every manga has have a complex plot like Death Note, Code Geass, or Ghost in a Shell to be as good as the before mentioned. If it's not for you, don't watch it.
But yes, the point of Gantz is crazy violence, sex, and gore. If you watched the whole thing, you'd know that.
