Watch this video. Some may think it's funny. Or cute, or whatnot but there's an underlying issue here; i'm not pointing fingers here but it appears that this poor child has a gender identity issue. Prehaps from a household that lacks a male role model. It is why it is sssoo important for a child to have both parents in the household while they are young, as children imitate what they see, and apparently this child thinks it's ok to act feminine. And no i'm not making this a gay or straight issue, just a gender indentity one.

Furthermore i'd like to know who/where the parents are of this child and do they think this is entertaining. Plus it appears that he's in school. Are the teachers the one filming this? I, as a parent, would be outraged if during school hours, my child was allowed to be the center of entertainment, when he's sopposed to be learning to read, and hone in his english and math skills.

Your thoughts.

I don't know if it's really about gender-appropriate role models. Appears to be more about giving kids too much access to television, most likely unmonitored.

I think Beyonce is the one who should be monitored and given restricted access to the public.

Actually I think it's important for boys and girls to have a positive male role model. I've known many a women from ages 6 to 60 who could have benefited from having a male role model in their lives. (Most of them didn't have a father figure.)

I agree childeren need role models, but sometimes parents aren't the best role models. It has nothing to do with having both parents available. I was raised by Mother, with my Father 500 miles away. The quality of parenthood is far more important than the quantity.

Nowhere in that video does it suggest that the kid has a gender identity issue or lacks a male role model. He's just being a kid.

The quality of parenthood is a given. I just know too many women who could have benefited from a positve male role model.

Not. He is obviously acting 'feminine'. And apparently thinks it's o.k. Yeah some may view it as him just goofing around and being a kid, but what's next, make-up and high heels to make his performance more spectacular? Your not looking at the big picture here my friend.

Then we'd have no strippers. :csad:

I kid, you are correct and as have I.

You lack the context of the situation necessary to make a judgment call like that, though. He might have just been doing it as a goof or a parody because he thought it was funny. Hard to really say without knowing the entire story behind it. A lot of kids like acting like and pretending to be something they are not. They user their imaginations without the inhibition of social stigmas or artificial gender roles. There's nothing to say that this isn't what this kid is doing.

He's like 5 or 6 years old! So what if he's acting feminine? He's at the age where girls are still gross, and "s-e-x" is one of those words you say and then giggle uncontrollably even though you don't know what it means.

There's nothing particularly wrong with this, it's just disturbing to watch. This kid needs to see some Rock and Roll, Jazz, and Blues music vids, PRONTO.
