Anyone catch the 7 minute clip from itunes. I dont have an account so i cant view it. Could someone post it on youtube?

I think this will be the second casualty of the summer for WB. It looks funny to me and I used to watch the tv reruns...and I prefer steve carrell over will ferrel any day...but I just don't think its gonna hold up well against love guru...or plenty of other movies still to come this summer. This year is once again just way too jam packed.

Not looking good so far, 55% at RT for Get Smart.

Like i said if you refer to a site for a movie then I don't know what to say.

So if a dumb movie gets a good review fro mRT your gonna go see it?

Okay that makes a lot of senses.

RT critics don't like alot of comedies unless there boring ones. Kung Fu Panda is teh exception and most dreamworlks and pixar movies are loved. But The Rocks get no critic love.
I am seeing this for i love the show but many will rush to see the summers stupidies comedy The Love Guru.
I do think Wanted is a will be a cool good movie but is going up against Wall-E. I wish Wanted would do well but like Get Smart it will fall to conjestion that is teh summer box office.

I like The Rock there is alot worse actors out there then The Rock. Ben Stiller, and Will Farrell come to mind.

No, but if enough critics give it good reviews I will.

I think the studio dumped quite a bit of pocket change into this flick for the special effects and action sequences, so I think it's being treated more like a blockbuster as opposed to just a cheaply made comedy. They did say in many interviews they wanted this to be a straight up action flick with comedy intertwined.

No way this loses to the Love Guru... Nobody has given a crap out Mike Myers in a long time (no, Shrek doesn't count).

Get Smart was a popular show with people who liked 60's TV. I think Steve Carell is a perfect choice to be Don Adams movie replacement. No one is against Arkin as The chief and Anne Hathaway looks alot like the actress who played 99.
I am not sure how i feel about The Rock and Hannah Montanas Uncle Earle in this movie though yet.

This movie was Hilarious , I enjoyed every minute of it . I can't wait for the sequel .

The Rock sucks:o He is a one trick pony like Farell but Will at least makes people laugh. The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson is one of the worst actors out there right now that is being put in big movies. But at least the rest of the cast is great.

I think they should've let Mel Brooks take a stab at the script, because he helped co-create the original show, after all.

What's not to understand about that? If people are unsure they want to see a movie, they'd check the reviews first. That's what I did for "Get Smart", and because it's not getting great reviews. I'm not dumb enough to plop down $10 for a movie I'm not even sure I'd like.

so is this movie worth seeing??

how funny is it on a scale of 1-5?

I just saw it and I agree. In fact, everyone in the theater seemed to enjoy it.

What I liked about this so much is not only did I find it funny, but for an action comedy, it has GOOD action. One set piece in particular I really like. Most action comedies these days to me really bring the good funny and the okay action (even with Jackie Chan at the helm, I watched the Rush Hours more for the laughs than the kicks) I thought this brought the bang pretty well.

Just saw it. Not great but not bad either. 6.5/10.
I knew The Rock's character was gonna be bad as soon as he first showed up.

Its actually a pretty decent movie, the comedy is ultimately forgettable (just silly slap stick, a bit of political satire, and some funny deadpan stuff. You'll laugh, but there is no big funny moment you will remember for ages). What really sells this movie, is how solid it is apart from the comedy. It is actually a pretty solid spy movie. GREAT action (which I was not expecting), well rounded characters, and the acting is pretty damn good. Carrell switches from his normal slap stick routine to hillariously deadpan, it works, well, almost reminds me of Leslie Neilsen. Also, the chemistry between Hathaway and Carrell is suprisingly effective.

I feel critics are being unfairly harsh, but I think the unique genre of this movie may be what has caused that. Its not quite comedy, not quite action, not quite mystery, and not quite drama. A little bit of all of them. Over all though, it works. 7/10.

Also, Patrick Warbutton cameoing as Hymie at the end alongside Bill Murray as Agent 13 was great.
