Ghost Rider #1 Preview

i agree, but it does help when spider-man shoes up in arana. i think, young avengers and runaways aside, that she's gotten the most exposure of the "new heroes". x-23 on the other hand doesn't really need a sell. she kind of sells herself.

it's gravity that i think is where marvel dropped the ball.
Gravity did fine in MTU's "Legion of Losers" arc, even though MTU sells poorly and that arc is not part of 616 continuity. Gravity will show up, as well as other "newer" characters like the 3rd Kraven and the Hood, in BEYOND! this summer.

I wonder if this will have only 2 issues released in 6 months, Moonknight style.

 #1 Came out in April, #2, in May and #3 is coming out this week.

while i'm sure beyond! will be fun and all...it seems like a marketing ploy/infomerical for gravity, the hood and kraven; putting them in a book with spider-man and venom, which is sure to sell, for no other reason than that.

Looks very nice. If they play up more of the Heaven and Hell aspect and give us some interesting stories, I'm in.

Looking forward to this. Hope it delivers. Could possibly be all artwork and no story....i hope it kicks as much ass as the last series did (in the beginning)...

That's the thing; Howard Mackie has become the official scapegoat of Spider-Man's "Clone Saga", but his first two and a half to three years on Ghost Rider were STELLAR, imo...

I hope the new series has some of that vibe.

One could argue, "why not put them in a book that sells, vs. one that won't"? Because as good as MTU was during that arc, it was selling TERRIBLY. As in outside the Top 100.

We also don't know how well BEYOND! will actually sell yet. Venom's past his prime and not even Spider-Man can save a sagging title with a guest appearence anymore. I'm buying it for the characters, the art, and because Dwayne McDuffie worked some serious magic writing JLU.

i'll be picking it up for the same reasons, although i'm not too familiar with mcduffie. i do like kolins, a lot though.

Wow, an ongoing Ghost Rider book. I thought that Ennis was just doing another Ghost Rider mini. But this is much better news and good news that Daniel Way is writing, I've really dug a lot of his work recently.

Most notably, The Bullseye miniseries that have come out.

Wow, Way picks up on something Ennis started again. He's like Ennis' pinch-hitter these days.

Anyway, it looks pretty good. I hope there's something in there pretty early on to explain how this all ties into the established Ghost Rider stuff with Danny Ketch, Noble Kale, Mephisto, et al. I'm fairly certain there won't be, though.

I read an interview somewhere that said they're going to address that stuff. Whether they really will or not has yet to be seen.

I suppose I'll pick it up after all.

Thank you for posting this. Since I'm new, this is the first time I've gotten to see ANY preview. So this is fun! (And free...)

the last ghost rider mini series made me want more so bad... and now i cant wait for this. looks extreamly good.

Apparently, Mark Texeira has signed a Marvel exclusive, so he could be the artist on this book for a while

don't forget about javier. :)

This looks really nice. I picked up the mini recently and I enjoyed it, but the art was so dark it ruined the story in parts.

Judging by the preview the art in this one is a lot cleaner, but the story seems to be a continuation of the mini and GR's attempt to get out of Hell.

If he does escape back into the mainstream I hope he doesn't end up in New York, but instead goes on a word tour, I think that holds potentially better storylines than him interacting with the usual characters i.e Spiderman, Punisher, X-Men etc.

Ive never picked up a Ghost Rider comic, I think this might be my first.
